Default What Type Hose Can I Use????

I relocated my fuel cell and need to use a piece if hose to connect the tank inlet to the Le Mans gas cap. I was told "radiator hose" will disintegrate (wheres my thesaurus) with fuel in it. Not in particle form but in liquid form making it past my fuel filter and clogging my fuel injectors. If this is true, what type/s of hose are available? I need on with 2 1/4 ID at on end with a 1 1/2 ID at the other end. This hose must have a 90 degree bend in the middle with approx. 3" tangents. I was thinking of dipping the radiator hose into the rubber tool caoting that you can buy. That stuff is suppose to resist gasoline. anybody got an opinion or suggestion?
Thanks

Default Fuel Compatible Hose

You have to use fuel compatible hose. You can get the hose at any NAPA Parts store. Be sure to ask for fuel tank, fuel compatible hose. They sell it by the foot or in precut lengths such as two feet or three feet. When you install it be sure that it doesn't kink, especially if you don't have straight run from the filler neck to the tank.

Max, it is true...I got edjumacated on this with a home-built turbo installation. For the BIG hose you will need for the fuel filler neck (21/2-3 inch or so?), try some big truck (like tractor-trailor rigs) supply houses, or shops that specialize in hydraulic hose fabrication...they both should have fuel-proof hose in large sizes. Problem is, it is straight stuff usually. If you need to put in any bends, I suggest you use mandrel-bent tubing of the same size, also available from the same supply houses.

Boat dealers use the large gas hoses also.

Default Gates part #

Gates 23932 fuel fill hose 2" I.D. (51mm)
Its a fuel specific hose with a metal coil inbeaded in the rubber, which prevents collapse while bending to fit. Use a quality stainless steel "t" bolt hose clamp and your in business. Hope this helps. Rod
