Default Need Advice, Please................

I am building a small block, 30 over, with E303 cam, forged pistons and rods, and EFI system. I will be running a Turbo. Here is my question....what size injectors and mass air meter do I need to be running????

I have my Turbo guy telling me to get large ones, 40 or above, and they can be regulated down if necessary and a 75mm or larger meter, unless I run a satnd alone???????? (whatever that is)

Then I have my local speed shop guy, every time I think I find a good deal, telling me that's not what I want. I suspect he just wants to sell me "NEW" stuff from his shop.

Can somone give me some advice here, Please?????

Arrow '87 5L coupe

Hi,
I turbo'd my 5 liter way back when and tried some stuff.
If you use a Ford EEC IV setup I would go with the 24 lb injectors for up to 7 psi boost with no intercooler, and the 30 lb injectors if you want 8 to 10 lbs boost, anything more and you need a custom computor and O ringed heads. Also use the Ford mass air meter ,don't get a cheap meter, otherwise go with a custom Pro M meter calibration. Use an ignition boost retard, calibrated FMU and a minimum of a 190 lph fuel pump.
BTW I had 7 psi boost on stock 19 lb injectors ,no intercooler,as in '87 there was NO speed equipment for efi mustangs yet, still it went from 14.2 down to 12.4 @ 114 mph at the all Ford drags in Bremerton,Wa.
Good Luck,
Perry.

Why Turbo instead of something like Vortech Super Charger? Or any other kind of super charger as opposed to Turbo.

Well there you go! I priced out a Vortex once and was surprised it would cost about $5K by the time you were done buying all the "other stuff" you need to make it work. BIG money!
