If you want short filters look at the newer production cars. I can tell you GM #'s as that's what my grub getter is. An AC Delco PH-52 is a metric thread and darn small. It is about 2 1/2 inch long or less with a OD of about 3" also.
They do sell remote single and dual filter mounts for the newer metric sizes so if you need something that small look in that direction. I am sure the Ford V6 uses 1 about the same size. Good hunting and luck.
