Default Comp cams 35-771-8

Is anybody using or used a comp cams solid roller 35-771-8 or xr280r (242/248@.050, 608/614 lift)?

What engine was it in (specs)?

Good , great or used a better cam?

I am looking at putting one in my 347,10.2 comp, windsor snr's, 4.1 rear ,tremec, weekend street thrasher.

I was considering the same cam for my 396w. I'm also curious about what others think about it.

As a matter of interest, what cam did you use?

Over .600 lift for a 347 street car is a tad much IMO. I would be looking more in low .500's. I'm generally on the conservative side when it comes to cams and tend to think people offten over cam their street cars. If it were a race car, it might be different.
Just my opinion though.
Call CompCams and see what the suggest.

I used the Nostalgia Plus Hyd cam & it gives plenty of power for a cobra on the street. Not that a little extra would hurt . If you are going with a single carb setup pick a cam that fits your needs. If you plan to go with webers at any point pick a cam for those. The Nostalgia plus sounds really nice with a single carb but not a "lot" of lope. Pulls pretty good in a gocart.
