I agree, hate the "endurashine!" Thanks for the info!

Manowar:
Is that on a 351W or a 302?
If it is on a 351W will I have room for a large std. distributor Duraspark Cap or will I have to go to a smaller size like the MSD you show in the pics.

Still waiting to see if anyone bought the 351W Edelbrock set-up. I know people say it is the same as the 302 just a different intake, but still I'm looking for some history and satisfaction comments, $995 from Summit (not Endurashine finish on the intake).

That is on a 9.5 deck Man O'War (Not an OE 351) w/two 500 cfm Eddies.
Sorry those MSD are all we use and have not tested the OE large-cap distributors.
Of course it's only a brief dyno test (8 pulls plus run-in) and not road miles but they idled beautifully with no changes and made 12.5 A/F's all the way to the top. Made 10 less HP but 15 more lb-ft than our normal 870 single plane combination.
Hope that helps.

endurashine is an option on most all Edelebrock parts. fsstnotch, I'm also a Holley hater...

Can you get the carbs withotu being endurashine anymore? i guess you could alwasy pull it apart and powdercoat it! Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a new carb though.

Manowar,
What cam/head specs were used for the dyno? 351 bore or stroker? Just curious!

Manowar 08-29-2007 06:20 AM

Fsst,

That engine is our 427 World Class (4.125 x 4.00), rated at 495/485. The cam is hydraulic w/ 554/558, 250/256 @ .050 on 108CL. The heads are our Windsor Senior aluminums, 2.08 x 1.60. The quads made 500 lb-ft at 3800 if memory serves.
The story and specs can be seen here:

fsstnotch,
As far as I know the Edlebrock carbs are available in both cast and Endurashine except for the 500cfm it was available only in cast according to the '07 Edelbrock catalog. Now it looks like the 500's are available in the Endurashine with the release of the 2-4 manifold.
You could call them to see if the 2-4 setup is available cast

I would give em a call... but I can't really from here. If anyone else knows or can find out, that'd be great! Otherwise, I'll probably end up with the endura carbs on an un endura manifold.
