New for 2007 Edelbrock 2x4 for 351W
Has anyone seen what's new from Edelbrock for 2007? Check their website!
RPM Air-Gap Dual Quad Manifold and Carburetor Kits. They have an air gap manifold, (2) 500cfm Thunder series AVS carburetors, (1) with Electric choke and (1) manual a progressive throttle linkage and Russel fuel line and intake gaskets. As cast or Endurashine Finish. I wonder what the additional height is from the standard single manifold without the air gap? What about the cost, when will they be available at Summit or Jegs? It's got me reaching for my wallet! Jim |
*bump*
I'm surprised this one got buried so quickly. I checked out Edelbrock's website, and though you do have to jump through a few hoops and pull up a .pdf document, it's true....a 2x4 intake for the 351W will be available either by itself or as a package with matched carbs. Isn't this something that many here have been hoping for? Maybe the "sex appeal" is lessened because the intake is designed for the Edelbrock air mixers and not the traditional Holley set-ups? Seems to me for the person that is hell bent on having a 2x4 set-up, here's the bolt-on option that will soon be available. As for price, I didn't see anything posted. But I'd have to guess that a simple intake and a pair of 500cfm carbs will probably run around $1,300? Add a couple or three hundred for the polished set-up? I'm happy with my 750cfm Mighty Demon, but it will be interesting to see who jumps at this as an early adopter and what the driving impressions are like. -Dean |
My SB100 says single carb. Hmmmm? I'd hate to mess it up. Guess I better check before I order.

The only time (knock on wood) that I got pulled over was for an acceleration through three gears. Luckily for me, the officer was a gearhead and raced at Willow Springs. He let me go and I drove the remaining 2 miles to my house with my tail between my legs. I'm glad to see Edelbrock step-up to the plate with this offering...our hobby needs fresh items like this. |

They lost me at that point... |

If the new 351 manifold is spaced like the 302, holleys are out of the question

Check out these guys under new products.

The PME manifold should be out soon as I'm told. No word on price though.

It should look something like this on the motor:

Is anyone using one of edelbrocks dual quad kits with the air gap intake? Any clearance problems? Thanks

Check out www.carlsfordparts.com. He has a setup that uses holley carbs.

This may answer questions about installed height on 9.5 deck blocks:

manowar, can you host those pics on CC or somewhere other than photobucket? I don't have huge #'s of internet options here in Iraq and photobucket is blocked by the web server. Or email them to me maybe? I'm assuming since you offer them as options they clear the hood? thanks

We shoot them in raw format for publications so they remain large. You have emails so I hope you can see them. Come home soon! |
Thanks man. Is that the edelbrock setup?
Doesn't look real tall at all! |
Yes it is, with air gap intake which also produced great low-end torque on our dyno. It works very well.

Awesome! that's what I'd like to hear! I know I will be shunned for saying it.... but I'm a pretty big holley hater! Every holley carb I've ever had, ran poor or needed rebuilt all the time! the only thing I own right now that has a holley on it is my sand rail. Which has a ford 2300 on it with a holley 4412 500cfm carb.
I think I will be going with this setup! thanks! |
An original small block dual quad Cobra would have had Carter AFB's, which is what the Edelbrock carb is a copy of( maybe the E-brocks are AVS's??). Maybe buy some older Carters to use rather than the Edelbrocks? I would be OK with E-brock carbs if it wasn't for that awful shiny finish.
