Anything that can be done to a small block for enhanced performance or efficiency can be equally applied to an FE. The FE has a BETTER valve angle than a small block by a bunch. The BT high riser heads address the low floor position nicely. I can get at least equal compression with a flat piston since my chambers are very small by big block measurements - I've been as small as 66cc.

At a rules mandated 434 inches in 2006 we were right in the upper/middle of the pack - the canted valve CHI combo was obviously in the sweet spot - something like 7 of the top ten. But if I recall correctly, there were NONE of the traditional wedge headed small block Ford engines ahead of me. So much for superiority.

In both 2007 and 2008 we were alowed to build to any OE displacement (+ a few cubes for boring), and scores were factored by cubic inches. Again we fared pretty well with the old FE both years. Take out the incredibly talented, well financed & researched Kaase and Bischoff entries and we are doing just fine for bunch of Detroit street rats. We have always been in the top few on horsepower - old racers tend to go big!

If you're gonna use the EMC as a reference - and it ain't a bad one with impartial scoring, many OE compatable components, and pump gas as requirements - then you either build a Cleveland headed small block - or something else. The popular wedge headed small block ain't in the hunt. That ought to tick a few guys off :) (I actually like small blocks, but since he's bashing my specialty I'll take a chunk out).

The difference between a 427 Windsor and a 427 FE is that the small block car keeps his hood shut at shows - badge envy!

Obviously I have a bias. :)

Now this is what I'm talking about.

Thank You Barry

This time I put fuel injection on it and could not git it to run right. Those big rods went round and round until there was a F.atal E.xtraction so I dropped the b!tch in the lake for a bouy. What a turd! Thanks for dragging me in this pile of crap.:p

McVette

dont get me started

My 2006 combo has 2" rods. They spin just fine, and are smaller than a SBF production rod bearing. Remember - anything can be done to any engine...

If this McPoo guy had a clue he'd trade it for a roll of nickels so he could buy himself a date for Friday night..... :)

Mark,
You are EVERYWHERE!

I'm sure glad I'm a Mechanical Engineer....I wouldn't want to be a joke in Patrick's eyes.

Brent, I have absolutely no doubt that you were howling with laughter when reading that post (and agreeing with it, as well).

McD00 02-04-2009 02:27 PM

2" rods? Chevy size....that will hold together cuz we no chevies are better:D
Lets face it the only thing FE on these knew engines is the name...

Oh I never had to pay for some but I herd you could build a F.inally E.xtinct BB for what some of those wimmen cost:eek:

And your beloved small block might come with a World block, some AFR heads, a chinese stroker kit, an Ed intake, a - - wait a minute - - there ain't a Ford part in the pile. We are still even on that count.

And you are still a helpless wannabeee with an empty driveway, an empty garage, and a second hand computer. And a "free left hand"! So there!

McD00 02-05-2009 10:50 AM

We got him at six weeks and male pupies don't hump at that age. My Grand Father had a springer spaniel named Barry
and I thought that was pretty neat name for a dog ( folks that name their kid's Barry should be shot). But Clint took a liking to Barry right away and didn't mind him peeing in his lap that much...I brought some killer wine just in case !!! He kinda got a little bit upset when Barry ( Now Wally) started to chew on his directors chair from Play Misty for me http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067588/
Sh!t Barry didn't know and there were so many damn stools with sh!t written all over them how would he know....I was gonna get a picture of 931 with Clint in the drivers seat but he wouldn't do it cause he knew it was a fake and Clint just likes the real deal...I can't blame him.......A few years later I traded the Cobra for a roof cause I kinda feel the sameway about fake stuff.

Hey McWindowLicker, roll another left-handed cigarette and stay off the computer.

I've never read so much brainless banter in all my life.

cobrarkc 02-05-2009 12:36 PM

Hey McDipsh!tz Why don't you go hang out over at the smallblock forum before you hurt yourself. Whatever your on keep it to yourself.

blykins 02-05-2009 01:21 PM

He should have traded in his Cobra for a clue instead of a roof.

Barry,

Press the ignore button on this imposter. The REAL McDoo has class, this guy is something that only rhymes with the word class.

I'd much rather read your posts than this bozo, and it would take a Brinks truck loaded with nickle rolls to get him a date with a 1 leg hair lip dog.

I actually have a theory about this cat.

I think he's just another member in disguise, just giving us a hard time. If you notice, as much as we rag on him, he never defends himself. He just leaves then comes back a couple of weeks later and says something stupid about FE's.

Too bad we can't compare IP addresses with some other members....I bet it's some body sitting home busting a gut at our expense.

Brent, it's not as difficult as you think. His IPs, whle they are dynamic, resolve to the same network (biznesshosting.com) down in the Miami/Dade/Ft. Lauderdale area in Southern Florida. That nework is owned by Volico.com, a small web hosting/server company. If you were so inclined, you could contact them and they would be able to tell you whose account had the lease on that particular IP at that particular time. Now Brent, the tricky part is getting them to tell you. You have to be clever.;) Just remember, they're there to help you. If you were so inclined, you would start by calling their tech folks at this number: 954-818-4790.

Already done.

Maybe his Mom will catch him on the computer and ground him for a week.

I bet he's really is a nice guy, but needs to know when this %$*^ isn't funny.

I did a tracert on him and it routed me to Miami, FL....so what Patrick says makes sense. I wonder why his profile says CA?

patrickt 02-05-2009 05:40 PM

Perhaps he left his heart....
