Cobra Meets in Ventura area?

Hey All,
New to the forum. I've seen a somewhat large group that meets frequently at a restaurant in Ventura on weekends. Looking for some contact info & the where & when.

LAST Sunday of the Month, south of the 101, on Valley Circle in Calabasas, is a 300-car gathering with about half a dozen Cobra replicas, an original or two Cobras, and lots of new Ferraris, Lambos, Vettes, Porsches, and an eclectic assortment of cars from the 30's, 40's, 50's. 60's, 70's and 80's. Sunday mornings from 6:30 AM to about 10 AM.
150-200 cars are there EVERY Sunday, but the LAST Sunday of the month is the BIG turnout. About an hour or less from Ventura.

If the restaurant your referring to is Tailgates I believe they are gone (out of business). There is a new BBQ place in Oxnard but I have yet to go there. Email John Wais as D-cell recomended and get on the notification list. Next meet should be early Dec.

The next gathering will be Sat. December 6th. I will be driving Brian Smith (Kit Car Mag.) to cover the event. We will be going on our usual cruise up the coast after lunch. Don't Forget Motor4toys.com and the Grand Opening of Pacifice Coast Motorsports on Sunday. Should be a blast..... Peace, Darren

Our Tri County Cobra gathering is this Saturday December 6th at 11:00am.

The location is CJ's Barbecue on Victoria in Oxnard;
It is southern flavored barbecue. The folks that came last time all agreed the food was very very good. They have outside tables/chairs which they put outside by the cars for us. After ordering the food, they bring it out to the cars. It is relatively a small place so don't be surprised. I stopped by today and they have a whole bunch of the pictures posted on their wall.

CJ's Barbecue

Directions: Northbound 101
Get off on Victoria and cross under the freeway to the left.
Go straight down Victoria 3.7 miles, it's on the left just past the airport.

Directions: Southbound 101
Get off on Victoria and stay in the middle lane of the off ramp.
Make a left onto Valentine and stay in the right lane to Victoria.
Turn right onto Victoria and go down Victoria for 3.7 miles, it's on the left just past the airport.

If you make a left from Victoria, be very careful, there is a nasty dip. If you turn there, the left side (wrong direction) looks to be more gentle. I suggest you go to 5th street and make a left, go to the first place you can make a u-turn and come back to just before the back of the gas station. The entry to the gas station off of 5th Street leads to CJ's.

By the way rumor has it the editor of Kit Car magazine will be joining us and will be doing an article in the magazine about the our Cobra get together.

I am so sorry I won't be able to make it. It is UCLA vs. USC at the Rosebowl that day. As luck would have it I will be at the game. Have fun!
