Who's doing the Motor4Toys show this year?
anyone?
it's slated for December 7th, different location... but in same area (Woodland Hills). Last year was a great (albeit COLD) show... Hopefully will have warmer weather this year... |
This year will be the 5th annual. The new locationis at ANthem Building in Warner Center (Blue Cross) 21555 Oxnard Street, Woodland Hills, CA. We expect 5000 cars this year.
We will be staging at Valley Circle this year with a police escort. Brian Smith (Kit Car Mag.) will be covering the event and driving with me to the Grand Opening of a new 10,000 sq. ft shop in oxnard after the event. More food, music and fun. More info to follow. Peace, Darren |
Darren, when and where will be the staging event?
Matt |
Matt, We will be staging in the parking lot South East of Valley Circle and the 101 Fwy. We will have a police escort to the show. We set up a corral with 50 spaces for cobra, gt40, daytona etc. owners. Don't forget to bring a toy. Spread the word. Peace, Darren

What time should we be at the staging area????
John |
Hi John, We will be staging at 7:00am. Bring your jacket. Peace, Darren
|
I am hoping to make it, what off ramp do I take to get to the staging area:confused:
|
Mike,
If your coming from santa barbara get off the 101 east at Valley Circle/Mulholland Drive, you will be turning left on the frontage road which takes you to Mulholland Drive and the shopping center straight ahead towards your right will be the place. Either continue straight and turn R into the parking lot or turn R at Mulholland and turn L into the parking lot. Hope this helps. You can download registration forms from the web site, it's easy. It's a release of liability form. John |

What a great time I had!!! As the sun was rising over the San Fernando Valley, several police cars with lights flashing escorted about 40 of us in our Cobras lined up two by two covering about 2 city blocks from end to end. They would hold the traffic at stop lights so we could all proceed together and then they would...sirens blasting...zipp up ahead to hold traffic at the next set of lights. Us middle aged kids in our toys keeping the engines reved, and a little tire chirping, and big wide smiles on our faces, brought people out of shops and along side walks scrambling to see what the thunder was all about, grabbing phones to take pictures of a truely remarkable sight. I felt incredibly special to be part of this group. We were only traveling at about 20-30 mph and as we came around the Anthem building where cars and people were already gathered...the traffic control stopped time while we approached and made a proper entrance to the car show aka Motor 4 Toys toy drive. It seemed like everybody there had a camera and ran to the sides of the driveway as we cruised on by with side pipes blazing. If anybody reading this has any pictures to share that would be great. I saw a lot in our group with cameras and it would be cool if we could share photos. Thanks!! I hope the kids like their toys this Holiday.

It was quite an entrance and thanks to our friends with, and formerly with the LAPD for arranging for the escort. I've got several pictures, but don't know how to upload them here. If someone can tell me how, of guide me to a post explaining how, I'll be happy to upload some pics.
