Forum speed issues
Are the servers or Forum network feeds having an issue? I am seeing dramatically slower forum browsing. I believe it to be the CC forum since other sites are loading and performing properly.

I've always thought this site was slow but lately, yes, it seems to have slowed even more

Same here and there was a thread in the Lounge about this and what problems members are having. Most of the time I can't get anything to post without it timing out and telling me it can't load that page or some other thing.

Without a doubt this is the slowest site I frequent. I don't know what it is but I have always had problems with this site????

Took 20 seconds to load this thread; that's after waiting 15 seconds for the site to load and I have a very fast connection and machine. This is without a doubt the slowest to respond site I visit. As has been said, I mostly just give up and move on.

site is slow due to graphics (pictures, videos, and ads), coding, and host server. easy fixes with $$$

This has been going on for years. It almost always takes 20 seconds or so to open the forum. To open this topic took over a minute. Clearing the seen map (quick links->mark forums read) will take a minute or so to return to the index. More often than not it times out. Sometimes its noticeably worse, like right now, but it is nothing new. And that happened to me when I was in Colorado and now in Las Vegas, so I'll assert it's not the network link to the hosting site but the hosting site itself.

In an earlier session that failed miserably I was getting long pauses ending in "connection reset". At the very same time that this was happening, a ping to clubcobra.com was typically in the 90-100ms range which is good for a server. So I'm betting the database engine is getting starved.

Response times to pings seem reasonable, but page loads often time out or, like others, I get 'connection reset' messages. May need to run some diagnostic tools on the server(s) to figure out what's going on (or not) and where the bottleneck(s) is.

Twice this week the forum was "off the air" with database and other errors. The latest was this morning.

I have the answer
I believe the answer lies it hitting the button in the upper right hand corner in bright green that says be a CC Contributor.
I plan on doing that when I get to my desk in the morning. Having the forum down for a few days makes me realize how much I appreciate it.

There were disk errors that I had to resolve. Harder to take care of remotely unfortunately. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate the patience.
