Why don't you simply say "This is my advertised price, but I will meet or beat any other good faith price -- just bring it to us." All of the stores around here (car dealers too) do that; it's no big deal. In fact, a couple of them even say in their ads (which includes price) to "shop around, and visit us last, we'll meet or beat whatever you bring us."

So, what is the roller price?
Doesn't anyone know? Suggested list is good enough for me.

What, are we guarding the launch codes here?

Jim, he ain't gonna tell you in public; that's just the way he is. And it's now become a "thing" with him. You could waterboard him and he still wouldn't tell you. Sadly though, that's not the attitude that quiet would-be buyers like to see.%/

We will gladly supply pricing information to anyone who inquires.

Perhaps we are reluctant to put the pricing out in a forum so that people who have no possible purchase intention nor interest in the car do not create a twelve page posting about "the price, why is it "X", "X" is too much, "X" is too little, brand "Y" has better pictures in the owners manual, SPF is not supporting fair trade cocoa beans in Belize" and a host of of other unrelated stuff!

I know what this is....it's the old "any publicity is good publicity trick"! So we discuss for 12 pages ..... etc.
This is quite a reasonably size audience, so just give us the suggested list price, and you've got your publicity, and we won't mention SPF and the cocoa beans in Belize here again.

Did Shelby do dashboards in red? I didn't know that :)

Cheers,
Glen

The dash is "reminiscent" of an original.

Stephen Becker, from Planet Cobra, a sponsor here, would get my business over someone who doesn't list their prices. At least he comes on the forum and gives his roller prices.

Planet Cobra

Rest assured, you will not be seeing any pictures from me. In fact, there's someone in your neighborhood, a dealer of note, who would get my future replica business since he advertises his prices. ;) :p

Totally agree.

RodKnock 01-07-2012 09:27 PM

And I can't forget the Kirkham's:

Or ERA's:

OK, let's cut this silly business. If I'm looking at buying a car - any car - I want to know the approximate price so I can do my own shopping around when I want to. I don't want to hand over my contact details and then potentially get hounded for years (this definitely happens) by sales people. This is a buyer's market, not a seller's market. Enough said.
Cheers!
Glen

So there's an FIA roller available at Gulf Coast Motorworks for $69.9K, so take a guess at what the slabside costs. It's got to be close to that.

BTW - Interesting that that Gulf Coast shows the list price for all of the cars that they have for sale.

Thanks for the link Doug. I hadn't heard of Gulf Coast before now.

At least now I have a ballpark price.

So that rules you out then Patrick..**)

Ive missed this thread, i would of actually estimated the roller price to of been around the $68k +/-. It seems a SPF 427 is currently low $50k.

65SC 01-08-2012 05:42 AM

SA lists the 50th roller in glass at $69,995 and the aluminum at $134,995

And, Glen, when Mark IV gets his "nose out of joint" he disappears from the thread and replies no more.%/ I've seen it a couple of times now. You have to wonder whether he treats his customers the same way.

Uh, Pat - he posted at 7:44pm last night. About 14 hours ago. Since then you have posted three times on this thread.

You are grinding some sort of ax. Not attractive.

Perhaps it's just me, but if it were my living I'd be checking a thread related to the product I sell endlessly or till ALL issues, queries & questions were fully answered, and everyone was happy.
...and then just once again to follow up

I'm hoping Patrick is wrong on this...
But invariably he often hits the nail on the head.

I wonder if the local betting agency could give us the odds on when Mark IV will respond.

Ps- Jack: love your ride!!!
Have I ever told you that the portofino blue with white stripes is one of the best kept secrets with regards to colour combos on a cobra. Looks fantastic!
