Here are a couple of pics of csx 8980 the second 50th anniversary car to be shipped from Hi Tech. Csx 8998 being the first .Both are on the water headed for las vegas ARRIVING early February.
289`s appear to be on the high side initially but once the drive train is fitted and some miles put on the springs settle to the correct ride height.
This has been a complex and expensive project and I would like to thank Shelby American for their assistance and all of the Hi Tech South Africa team on producing another fine motorcar against all odds.
A lot of research and developement has made these cars stand out from the rest of the pack and again thanks to all the original car owners who allowed me the opportunity to photograph, measure and discuss their cars with them. Very much appreciated.Fran Kress went as far as loaning me articles so as to make sure the reproduced ones were correct.
May you all enjoy the end product
Ross

uh...the wipers should come to rest on the passenger side, not the drivers side.

A couple more pictures to add to what Ross posted. This is a CSX car based upon the Superformance MK II "Roadster" (I'm not gonna call 'em a "slabside" because they are NOT flat!) which Ross has engineered with Hi-Tech in South Africa. The Shelby aniversary cars are up for build first and our Superformance cars will then start down the line.

There are differences in the CSX and SPF MK IIs in details and standard/optional features but the cars share the correct frame and suspension as per the 289 Cobra production cars.

We at Time Machines are working with Fran Kress to produce the correct McCord style coolant header tanks and the alternator bracket assembly. They are being tooled from original 289 Cobra street car pieces that Fran has suppled to me as samples. These will be available as options from Shelby or Superformance and can be purchased from me as well. I will also supply the original type alternators and plug in wire pigtails.

Contact me for info and pricing on the Superformance MK II.

Yes, why is it a secret? Why is it that people must contact dealers for price and options?

No disrespect to anyone involved with the project, but this type of business practice/model just drives me nuts.

Me too! You think Superformance would want to sell these bad boys! Mark

Generally speaking, when there is a non-restrictive geography for dealers, a dealer does not want to publicize how much he will move off list.

madmaxx 01-07-2012 01:56 PM

I will sell you one for 100,000 us dollars

Well it's a short trip!;)

We will gladly supply pricing information to anyone who inquires.

Perhaps we are reluctant to put the pricing out in a forum so that people who have no possible purchase intention nor interest in the car do not create a twelve page posting about "the price, why is it "X", "X" is too much, "X" is too little, brand "Y" has better pictures in the owners manual, SPF is not supporting fair trade cocoa beans in Belize" and a host of of other unrelated stuff!

not if the car you are asked to replicate comes to rest on the drivers side. The first car shown at Barrets was built by Shelby and its wipers rest on drivers side.

Am I the only one that thinks those interior pics look pink?

Hope it's just the pictures.

The dashboard is black, just like the originals, but with a slight pink tinge to it. ;)

If there may be some discounting going on, what about quoting a recommended retail price, then?
Cheers,
Glen

Thats fine!, I wouldn't buy one from you anyway! In fact I wouldn't buy a lug nut from someone with a sorry attitude like you have anyway! Mark

TN Shelby Cobra 01-07-2012 04:13 PM

Sorry If I seemed rude but I don't care about cocoa beans and I'm not going to compare pics all we wanted to know is a price on the slabside cobra same as the first guy that posted. I don't plan on making a 12 page story on why the car is or isn't worth the amount you told us. As bad as the economy is you thing someone asking a question about the price of a car would get an answer. My father-in-law was a very suscessful Chevrolet muscle car dealer in Ohio and the first thing he taught me when I sold cars was if an old farmer comes in with his bib overalls on treat him just like you would a guy in a 3 piece suit cause he probably has the cash money on him to pay for the car. Just because a person asks might ask a few crazy questions about a car doesn't mean he will not buy one.

What is the list price? Did the Kirkham's know I was going to buy their product, yet their price is listed on the their website since forever? What's wrong with public discussion of the list price? Is this a country where public discussion is not allowed?

Do I have to call someone to get a price quote on a stock? I think Apple is overpriced, so they care about my thoughts?

Why do I have to call to get a price? Sorry, but I think it's ridiculous and that's my opinion. I will not buy from a company that will not publicly list their price. When I get a 289 Cobra, it will have to be from a company that lists their price publicly.

Geez, does no one have a sense of humor anymore???

My wife agrees that I am "sorry". But stop calling me "Mark", my name is Adolph! (See Firesign Theatre to understand)

Throughout all of this NOT ONE PERSON has called, PM'd or emailed to get the info. Seems that the "story" is more important than the information.

Fair enough, please be sure to send me a picture of your 289 when you take delivery! Again, if you are really interested you will contact someone who can give you the correct information.

Ok, I'll go out on a limb and hazzard a guess that:

1) maybe TN's name is Mark, & he's singing off.
2) if you list the price Adolph you've nothing to lose & perhaps a couple of extra potential customers to gain.

My sense of humour is fine thx for asking
