New Superformance owner!

I am in the process of completing a deal on Superformance 097. I cannot wait to get it home. I would like to thank Rick Muck of Time Machines for working with me on this purchase. I cannot say enough about Rick's professionalism, knowledge and character. The car has a Southern Automotive (Bill Parham) 427 side oiler mated to a Tremec TKO 5 speed. From my understanding Dennis Olthoff has worked on the car as well. It's too bad that New York winters come so early, will only be able to get it out a few times before the snow starts flying....but there is always next year!

Looking forward to learning from each of you, and sharing the road when the situation presents itself.

I am grinning from ear to ear and it is not even in the garage yet :3DSMILE:

Jim,
Congrats on your purchase. Appears you are the 2nd owner of 097. The chassis originated for Olthoff's in 1996. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Exercise caution during your early driving excursions with this powerful car. Especially on those cool early morning rides. Cold tires and slick roads can spell danger especially to a new owner.

I would like to know all that you know about the car. I head your advice concerning being careful. This car has an amazing HP to weight ratio and I plan on using some caution as I become familiar with her. I plan on driving this cobra for years to come. I believe that I may be receiving a wiring diagram with the car, if not I will contact you about purchasing one.

Jim will soon be "crushin' bugs and burning gas" in 097!!!

Thanks for your patience in putting this together. I know you will love being an SPF owner.

Thanks,

Rick

Congratulations on your purchase, Jim!
It's great to see another upstate NY Superformance owner come aboard :) Hopefully we can meet up some time. I live in Breesport, NY south of Seneca Lake - not too far away.

You may have seen my Blue/White SPF (with hardtop) at Ricks shop. He is doing a lot of work/upgrades to the car, and I hope to have it back before the snow falls.

And you mentioned Rick's character:JEKYLHYDE Yep that he is!!! He has been deep in the AC/Cobra scene for a long time....
And make a note on your calendar to be at next year's Vintage Grand Prix at WGI. Always a good time and a chance to meet some other SPF owners.

Welcome aboard. And what Blas said... Be careful out there.

Jim,

Yes I have seen your car at Rick's shop and we met briefly at Watkin's Glen this year. I was there with my partner, Brenda. Rick had invited us to come along and made arrangements for Brenda to get her first ride in a Superformance. Looking forward to sharing the road with you as well.

1795 - You're new here (Aug 2013) so just this once you are pardoned, but your mates should know better, and they should have advised you accordingly.

Without pictures, it never happened :p

Congrats on the purchase. :)
SPFs are a great choice.

Tried to upload a picture and it did not work. Will try again.

Congratulations Jim on your new purchase. I'm sure you'll find that Superformance makes a great Cobra replica, and that Rick is a great guy to deal with, whose advice you can trust. As a new SPF owner, you might also want to consider joining SCOF, the Superformance Cobra Owners Forum.

On behalf of Jim, here is SPO097.

And yes, Blas I need a wire diagram to go with the car. Jim will also be getting his first year of SCOF on us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the road and at events. Thanks Rick for uploading those photos for me, and Blas for providing the wiring diagram. Just got off the phone with Bill Parham who provided some excellent advice concerning the engine. I have had some real nice conversations with him over the past few weeks. This is a wonderful group of people to become involved with.

Jim,

The SCOF website as mentioned before has a wealth of information regarding the Superformance cars. I recieved SPO#0678 myself this spring and am enjoying the Superformance experience beyond words!

Yours is even the same colors as mine.

Enjoy
Kirk

Kirk,

Looking forward to experiencing the same excitement that you are having. We will have to compare cars at cobra events.

Congratulations Jim, I too am waiting anxiously to get my first SPF, #3120. This is my first post on the site so if something looks dumb bear with me. Mine too has a Bill Parham engine but I went with a top loader. Holman Moody in Charlotte is doing the install. Started the whole process back in April ordering the car from Alan Petersen at Pathfinder Motorsports in Florida. Went to Georgia to hear the engine on the test stand and it looks and sounds awesome. Should take delivery in two weeks. Then the registration process begins. Will try to attach a couple of pics.

Herb,

Looks real nice. I cannot say enough on how impressed I was talking with Bill and Susan Paraham. I was trying to decide between two SPF's, the one that I purchased that had a Southern Automotive engine and another one that I was going to purchase as a roller and was going to have southern do a new build. When I told Bill and Susan that I was not going to have them build the new engine for me, but that I was purchasing a car with one of their engines in it, they both were supportive and Bill offered some good advice on the engine that I was getting.

Let me know how things progress and have fun riding.

Jim
