Seems like a good deal?
Saw this on craigslist yesterday. Seems like a pretty good deal on a nice Superformance.
I have no interest of any sort in this car, just came across it while searching the list for something else.... 2005 Superformance Cobra (Shelby licensed replica) |

Actually, that yellow color really pops if you have a sunny day and use a polarizing filter. I sold one a while back for a club members family and did the photos myself. Looked very similar, and no photo-shopping.
Only thing to do is go and see and drive the car. Color is a matter of taste, don't worry what people say about color. True, it will not be as easy to sell a yellow car as a BLUE car, (hence the somewhat lower pricing) but then you won't see yourself coming around a corner very often and have trouble locating your car at the London Cobra Show. :LOL: FYI: The car is a 1900+ series chassis. |

I think its a good looking car, from the one picture. As Blas inferred, certainly different and a matter of personal taste. Blue with white sure seems to be the choice of the majority, but I don't feel the need to be in that pack. Variety...spice...yadda yadda.

Paint quality seems very good, as does the overall look. Certainly a fine car as best I can tell and I wish the seller well. Just hope he has more luck with CL than I ever have. When I listed stuff on there all I got a gaggle of quacks and a general pain in the posterior.

The way that the car is listed, i.e., not a kit car and double barrel Holley, just makes you wonder how well the seller actually knows the car.

There are a lot of owners that do very little work themselves on their cars. They purchase the car, drive it very little and then sell it. I have helped many owners replace a fuse or relay on the phone. The site where this car is advertised lets the owner describe the car himself, unlike Cobra Country where Curt adjusts the text and photos. I would not concern myself with the written words too much. If you have interest in the car go and see it and drive it. It is a Superformance so you know the quality of the basic car. It presents well in the photo so you know the owner was at minimum a "waxer" which is fine. And I'll bet under the hood it is as clean as the outside or just dusty and in need of a light detailing.

You boys are over analysing and complicating it.
It has a suitable amount of miles to suggest most things are sorted and work. If one was in the market, going around to check it out is your answer. Whether it's photoshopped or not, meh, it will make no difference when I pop around and check it out. If a yellow SPF is something that fits he bill... Then one could start here to get a bearing on what their money could buy. Quote:

I stand corrected. I am not saying that it might not be a good car, only that the buyer needs to be cautious as the seller may or may not know what might be wrong with the car. All builds have the potential, no matter the make or engine builder, to go bad due to poor maintenance or poor installation. Helped a couple of guys recently who bought cars that needed a lot more work than they thought the car would need. I will focus on more productive suggestions in the future. Have a good day :) |
Geez, tough crowd (but I know it's all in good fun, right? Right?).
You all figured out that I'm a know-nothing rube because I accidently wrote "double barrel" instead of "double pumper quad-barrel." That also means I never changed the oil or bothered with a tune up, either. I will be more careful in the future. As for a reference to a "factory build" versus a "kit" versus a "roller," I think back to what I wanted to know as a buyer myself and also think of what 90% of the buyers really want to find out - is this a vehicle put together by the seller, who I know nothing about and really have no way to learn - or a build that has some factory support, perhaps a professional involved in its construction / maintenance, and so forth. I did not intend for a CL listing to devolve into an argument akin to ERA versus Superformance versus FF versus whoever else. Seriously, though, I appreciate the comments that are helpful and constructive. Mike |

I think this car was owned by a member of the Windy City cobra guys. He unfortunately passed away a few years ago.
I believe it belonged to Bob M. If it did he was a great guy and loved his cobra. If I am wrong I am sorry, but if I am right, this is a great ride. |
