When sold new, SPF delivers a digital copy of the owners manual with the car. You can then take it to a print shop, where they can make you a beautiful hard copy, with a digital picture of your car on the first page of the binder. ;)

Bill,
That is only true on the 289 series cars as Ross demanded manuals as part of his tooling licensing to SPF/Shelby. The MK III cars do NOT come with a manual so it must be purchased by either the selling dealer or the customer.

Well that only seems fair. And if for some reason a subsequent purchaser does not get an Owner's Manual (maybe because the previous owner's widow lost it) then he should get a complimentary copy from the manufacturer. I'm really not sure why Mark IV is not saying "Patrick, you're absolutely right and we provide complimentary copies to SPF owners just as matter of good business."

Patrick,
See the answer to Bill above. And you have not answered the question regarding I.P. rights. I guess you were never paid by your employer and just went to work for sh!ts and giggles.
And some dealers do provide the MK III manual from Mike Stenhouse as a matter of good business. And some may not. It is up to the dealer; these are the things that differentiate some of the dealers.
As a dealer who has just spent many hours helping two purchasers who bought elsewhere get their cars through the New York State registration system, don't lecture me about customer service. We are providing it on cars we never made a dime on.

So your answer is "even though we are selling you this hundred thousand dollar replica we won't include a hundred dollar manual because we have IP rights in it." Boy that makes a lot of sense. You'd think the owners of the company would just work a blanket deal to get that manual out to anyone who even wanted it. After all, who wants to read an SPF manual if you don't own an SPF?

Patrick,
You are totally missing the point. It is NOT that a dealer will not provide a manual (although it is up to them, I strongly agree that SPF LLC should provide one) but that purchasing one and then copying/PDFing it to disburse to other customers is circumventing the I.P. rights of the people who put substantial time and effort into creating it.
Try scanning and posting a current best-selling book and see how that goes with the publisher........

PS: Don't let Patrick get under your skin, he really misses Evan and just needs to let off some pent up steam wherever he can

And you'd think that after all these years he just might think "hmmm, I wonder if Patrick is laying a whip trap out there in front of me... naahhh, he wouldn't do that, I'll just walk straight ahead."

Bill S, doesn’t all this banter back and forth remind you of the old Cobra Forum with Meat? Geeze…. It appears I bought a car that needs a super duper decoder ring for use. It’s super hard to get info about this car unless you’re willing to pony up money for an outdated site.

Ah yes, Meat, the downfall of the original cobraforum.....Here, the banter is well intentioned 90% of the time.......Over the years, you learn to adapt to it. If you are on facebook, the Superformance owners group page is the welcome relief you are in search of.....

Suck it up everyone.
The car may or may not have included a manual.
If it did the previous owner(s) didn’t pass it along. Your beef is with them. Maybe if you ask they will give it to you. The manufacturer is under no obligation to supply subsequent owners with free documentation.
It it didn't come with it a book then it is up to you to acquire one if you really want one. But please do so ethically and legally.
I for one knowing the publisher probably frequents here would be reluctant to brazenly publish myself as a source for pirated material.
Really. If you just dropped somewhere close 100k and are whining about $150 then maybe Cobras aren't the place for you

Yes, the SCOF website was built in the stone ages and still going strong. 100% you should join. There is no other resource of individuals or tech library for SPF that can surpass it. Plus the email list is a blast.

Is there a reason to join SCOF? The website seems so outdated. The pages are hard to read and navigate. Was it built during the Stone Age? I’m sure there’s a lot of great info, but if the info sucks as bad as the website design, I’ll pass.
Thanks!

Friends...
To be clear, the manual I have offered to send to SPF owners was provided to me for distribution by Superformance.
