I was wondering how may cars Superformance has produced at this time. How
do there production #'s compare with ERA, Unique, Shelby's and Factory Five.

Actually into the 2950s. And a lot more cars if you count the Brock coupes, S1s, GT40s (they have now built twice as many as Ford/JWAE) the Nobles, Rossions and Speedway Motors 32 Fords. Plus the AC Ace Brooklands of the late 90s and now the Zagato Coupe.

Huh, so the numbers on the cobras (ie mine is 2626) are not an indication of the number of "cobras" produced by superformance?? Its a total vehicle number?
|
Your car number is a fairly accurate indicator for the number of Superformance cars built EXCEPT: Cars 26-31 were never built. So -6 from your number for an accurate production number.

Ok, I guess I'll bite. What is the story behind car #'s 26-31? What happened to them?
|
No Clue - may have been test cars at the factory or something...

Just the Mark III ("Cobra") cars, the others carry different numbering.

I think they're up to around 3000+ now,(on the mk iii's).i own spf #1440.i think,(for the money),spf builds the best cobra replica out there! (i just wish they came with a round tubular chassis,(like the originals).that's one thing i'll give to factory five racing!

Actually...regarding the MKIII's...we are now close to the 3100 numbers...SPO3045/3046 just arrived yesterday...and there are about 35-40 that are either in containers, or about to be in containers.

Back in 2002 Dynamic in Ohio had a black superformance with a round tube chassis and an aluminum body. Not sure if there was more than 1 built or not. Did that one follow the regular chassis numbering system?
