Default Superformance Brake Rotor Source?

Greetings Everyone;

Is there a source for brake rotors to fit a Superformance, other than Superformance? I saw the Hillbanks has the SPF rotor listed at $180 each.

I'm seriously hoping that someone can point to an existing thread that covers this, or has an answer in their hip pocket.

Bryon

Hi Bryon,
From your photos I assume you have car 2627 so that would be Wilwood brakes and rotors, and yes they are that price from usual sources. Early cars had Ford parts, Granada rotors etc but not late cars. All of that data is archived at SCOF and as far as I can tell no new rotor cross referenced part numbers are currently listed. You might ask over at SCOF maybe someone there knows of updated info. Have your rotors failed? Great looking SPF in your photos!

Hi Don;

Thanks for the reply.

No, the rotors haven't failed -- I'm asking this question because rotors are a common maintenance item. As such, it would be nice to have a parts source located before I actually needed them.

On a car of that weight they should last forever. Are you doing serious racing?

Unless you warp a rotor, pads should be all you ever need to replace. In many cases, turning rotors isn't necessary.

For some reason, mechanics seem to recommend turning rotors any time they do a brake job. I've got an Acura with 160K miles and I've only replaced the brake pads.

I have 28k miles on my car now. I had a couple of warped rotor's after some track time. I pulled all four and had them turned. They aren't even close to being worn out. I replaced the front pads since one was worn a lot more then the other three.

PS: Nice paint job on your car!!!!
