Default Clip-on rear-view mirror

I'm experimenting with some ideas to make the rear-view mirror a little more usable.

This clip-on mirror from Parts America was posted on a previous thread.

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...egoryCode=3160

I picked one up yesterday. I haven't had a chance to test it out, but it's a bit wider (11.5") than I'd like.

Any other ideas for something that isn't as wide?

Doug

Doug:

I do not recall the vendor, but will look for a receipt, purchased from a company in the UK that was mentioned on a CC Thread. The vendor had their own part numbers which are not on the packaging.

RV-30 Suction Mirror, 6" X 2.5"

RV-34 Suction Mirror, 4.5" X 2 "

The suction cup has a lever, not just press on. The Packaging has the manufacturer of the mirror as Summit Automotive ( no other identification ), do not believe this is the same company as Summit Racing Equipment, the UK purchase.

Thumbs up Mirror

I got mine from J.C. Whitney if my memory serves me correctly. It really opens up your field of vision in the rear. I highly recommend adding one. I'll look up my receipt if you're interested in the specifics.

I like the stick-on (adhesive-backed) convex mirrors for the fender mounted mirrors. The 3-3/4" diameter fits perfectly.

If you look around, some of them have chrome edge, some black.

They really make the fender mirrors useful - even on the track, or with the top on!

I have used a similar clip on mirror mounted on my cowl mirror. The increased visibility is great, but the problem is that the wind keeps blowing the mirror out of adjustment. Still haven't figured out how to make it more stationary.

Jim
Please post the Whitney part number. That looks good.

Warren - I found a similar clip-on mirror at Whitney, but it's wider (and wrap around) than the one that Kragen sells.

Definitely get a convex clip on mirror from Whitney. Knowing what's going on behind you sometimes is more important than what's going on in front of you.

Try a boating/marine supply store. They might have suction mount rear mirrors. Of course, you'll pay three prices for it, but they might have just what you're looking for.
