The look of two rollbars is not for me, but that's just me.
It's your car, if you like it, go for it!

Rich,
Welcome to Club Cobra and congrats on your new purchase. I've been very happy with my SPF for years...
I see this is your first post. I recommend that you search a bit on subjects that interest you. This particular topic was debated a little while ago, here, in this thread: Dual roll bars - form or function?
Good luck,
Randy R...

Two roll bars always looks goofy to me. Don't like it at all.
The idea is to NOT flip your car in the first place, right? So, drive within your limits and you won't even need to use the one roll bar.
You wouldn't even THINK of doing anything that might flip your Cobra when you have a passenger, right? So when the wife complains that you have a roll bar and she doesn't, point out that you won't be driving radically with her in the car anyway...might mess up her hair (I'm thinking of my wife as I write this...).

Actually, I opted for the 2nd roll bar not so much for safety. I wanted it so that i had something to mount a sheet of plexi glass to so it would cut down the wind in my wife's hair on long cruises. Kind of like what Warren has on his SPF.

Cobra's have a unique look for many reasons, one being the single rollbar. Most everything on Cobras was meant for a specific purpose, no frills. Racing a Cobra was for a single driver.
I know this is a purist view but most importantly you should be happy with your car and have it the way you want it. That way mine will look better ( ha ha )

The passenger seat in my Cobra will be a "no whiney-butt" zone: if you complain about too much exposure to the Sun or too much wind blowing your hair around, you don't get to ride shotgun.

I ordered mine with the second rollbar. My wife wanted it because it was easier for her to get in the car - she didn't want to mess up the paint, and yes it made her feel safer. She's looking forward to cruises now.

I'd go with a single oversized bar from driver to passenger instead of the double single. Black

I just recently received my cobra from Olthoff and I opted for the second roll bar.
I chose to order the car with the passenger side roll bar strictly for safety reasons, and not because my wife or anyone else asked me to do it.
Now that I have the car I am thrilled with my choice. I think that the second roll bar does "balance" the car, and I love the look.
My advice is to do what YOU want to do. This is your car and if someone doesn't like they don't have to ride in it, or look at it for that matter!

I have looked at alot of the modern convertible cars I see driving by and I haven't seen one yet with a roll bar period. This shouldn't affect your decision just something I have noticed.

To many differences in "modern convertibles" and a Cobra to compare. One major one is that many modern rollbars spring out upon impact or roll over scenario.
I don't personally like the look, however, I am sure that if I where in an accident I would be dreaming about not having one for a long time.

No rollbar at all looks great. So, see, it's all a matter of choice.

Rich_C_21,
I didn't want my wife to have to ask "where's mine?"
If you want to do any track time, two bars or a full-width bar is much, much safer (don't ask how I know....)

I always laugh when people get in my car and tell me, "Hey, there's only one roll bar." I tell 'em, "That's right, if you feel it start to flip, lean over."
