The engine

It's a 351w stroked to 408 cubic inches, working with a TKO600. Probably expecting it to produce somewhere around 480-500hp. Plently for me.

Car is now running, just waiting to get certified in IL.

Just when I thought nothing could sound better than my 1969 Camaro with a 427, we started this thing up and it's amazing. :D Hope to get a video up soon.

Lastly, any Cobra owners on the west side of IL, possibly on the IA/IL border or so, i'm located in the Quad Cities and have heard of a Cobra around here, just looking for anyone else out there.

Saweeeeet. Everthing so nice and new, with no dirt. Even the garage is almost spotless! A lift and a drain in your garage? Super nice!

Sweet car and garage. After 100 miles retorque the following;
1) half shaft bolts, if you find any loosen go back with loctite, a tell tale sign will be oil thrown on the under carriage.
2) drive shaft bolts
3) bellhousing to engine
4) bellhousing to transmission
5) driveshaft

CBattaglia 08-05-2008 01:15 PM

I second the tightening post!! Drive shaft bolts are famous for coming loose. A little blue loctite usually does the trick.

Beautiful car! Enjoy.

Richie18 08-05-2008 01:53 PM

Thanks for all of the comments, and i appreciate the info regarding tightening the bolts!

madmaxx 08-05-2008 02:43 PM

One other item:
Inspect all your brake calipers and ensure the banjo and bleed screws are tight and not leaking.

I assume you know about the generic one's like motor mount bolts etc, steering linkage etc, assume nothing is tight. I also use a marker and mark the spinner relative to the center piece to make sure the spinners are not backing off. Needless to say once I am sure I am not taking the wheels off anymore then I will safety wire. Oh, make sure you grease your ball joints, upper and lower and the drive shaft has zerk fitting also.

Beautiful car! Great color combination.

Gorgeous Cobra! Not a bad shop, either!

Congratulations and enjoy the "ride"!

Great Pictures! What are all the knobs along the bottom of the dash? I know one is for wipers, one is for dash light dimmer, two are for cool air on each side. What are the other 2 for?

Heater/defroster control & heater fan control.

Who cares about the car, I wish I had a garage like that. Why does it seem like everyone has an immaculate shop in their home garage?

By the way, nice car too!

FUNFER2 08-05-2008 06:49 PM

Very Nice !

What tires are on it ?
I've see that tread before, maybe Michelin pilots or Mickey Thompson ?

TButtrick 08-05-2008 07:12 PM

Very nice! Engine Factory 408?

I'm thinkin that ain't at the house. Floor drain and in ground lift usually mean pro shop.

Nice lookin car and shop either way.

Congratulations Richie18!! Is this a new motor or a new build? Just curious since I took delivery of my car just over a year ago and my chassis number is later.

CBattaglia 08-06-2008 07:43 AM

Beautiful garage! looks like you will have to rig a new exhaust venting system:LOL:

All you need now is a TV and the man cave is complete!

Richie18 08-06-2008 08:26 AM

Once again i appreciate all the comments, to answer all the questions...

This is a new build, i can only assume that this car has been sitting at the dealership for longer than others.

The TV is to the right, it's just not in the picture! :)

I know everyone loves pictures as do I, i'll take some more of the shop , the finished cobra, and show what else is lurking in there. Some hints to what else is in there

1) A coupe painted Le Mans Blue with white stripes packing a 427

2) A covertible, red with white coves packing a 283.

3) A mid engine car painted blue with an orange stripe

4) With side exhaust and over 500hp, its sound differs greatly from V8's.

Take a guess and Check back late tonight for more photos and the answer to these hints!

RodKnock 08-06-2008 11:45 AM

Well, the red with white coves with a 283 means you have a Corvette from '57-'61.
