Default Brake Upgrade

Just curious if anyone here has upgraded their early SPF brakes with the Olthoff kit. If so, was it worth it?

Yes...I have. Can't say I really have an "early" car though...I've got #770. I take my car to the track several times a year, and I've been very pleased with the big brake kit. I'm running PF01 pads, and I'm braking much later into turns than most other drivers. The upgrade fits very nicely, and looks like it came on the car originally...nothing appears "forced to fit", very professional installation.
The kit does require some welding...the mounting brackets for the calipers must be welded.

My only downside...PF01's are extremely dusty, and hard on the rotors in racing applications. But, there are additional pads available that aren't near as dusty, at the expense of braking power, though....basically, less dusty = less performance. I understand Dennis O has some new pads coming on board...Carbone Lorraine...or something like that. Supposed to be more braking but less dust.

Overall...for street use, I don't think you'll notice much difference...some, but not much. But the new brake kits really shine on the track.

Call Dennis and try a set of the RC-5 pads before you spend the time upgrading.
