Central Calif. Cobras
From the only east-west mountain range in California in the south, out to the Pacific, up to the Gay Bay, across past Sacto and down the spine of the Range of Light--who's out there? Might be the basis of some friendly get togethers... Sign in.

Central Calif. Cobra
I live in Coarsegold, CA - between Fresno and Yosemite up in the foothills. Have a NAF cobra I built 12 years ago. Have a 351c, top loader close ratio, 9" rearend. Have just finished welding up a new front crossmember for it.
Retired up here from Silcone Valley (SanJose) Did auto restoration on early sport cars for 35 years. Lee |
Leroy,
Coarsegold you say--that's just up the road. Local SCCA chapter does road rallies through your otherwise tranquil neighborhoods. Welcome aboard! Everyone--I had a blonde moment when I posted the thread here--please post your replies under the thread (same name) under All Cobra Talk. Jamo |
I'm in Fresno just became owner of a 1965 Cobra replica. I'm not a mechanic but I'm now enjoying tinkering with the 4 weber carbs Doesn't want to idle well. Now changing the inner and outer tie rod ends also and finding other things to do. Had an overheating prob. at the end of the trip from the Mexican border. Really need to talk to someone familiar to find out what I've got ED

Bakersfield. The 13th largest city in CA. A population of over 400,000, and only one Cobra? Whats up with that? I may have to rethink my relocation plans. Just what are people spending their time and money on? Where are their priorities?

I know of at least 10 cobras in the Bakersfield area. Most of the guys are a**holes. Just teasing guys...:) What we need is for Gordon to finish his cobra, he's been elected club president!!! Hey Gordon that 289 I've got is ready anytime to take your beast. Terry
|
Hey Terry, I'm all done with the exception of the trunk carpeting, so is Dennis, we'll have to take a little ride!!!

Gordon anytime you want, let me know..I drove up to Kernville to a waxer show and had a good time ripping up the canyon... Terry

============================ Lets go next weekend to see Dexter in Petaluma, we can head over to Bodega Bay and wipe out the fish market restaurant below The TIDES. I am ready to challenge Jamo to a barbeque oyster eatting and martini drinking contest. Question, is Petaluma more than 100 miles, just in case I need to use my AAAplus card like today?? Or I am open, where do you want to go?? |
Bony--that's an overnighter, but it would be a great one! With a little planning--a bit more in the future--we could probably grab Turk, Pat and Pete C. on the way.
Gordon--"off" as in available for a run? We need to hook up a rope system for Bony to use as a backup steering system, though. |
Fresno's around 225 miles from Petaluma & Bodega's another 30 miles or so past Petaluma. If you guys decide to do it, let me know - I'm around all next weekend - if you do an overnighter - maybe dinner on Saturday?.
Maybe I can trail behind in the vette (for now).:) |
Dexter
Like I said, I'd love to do it in the future--Bony and I were talking about the Inn at the Tides and Searanch just this morning. But I'm starting a trial on the 28th which I'll need to prep for most of the weekend. |
I am sure that we could arrange at least 3 and possibly 8 Cobras to join up with you guys if you ever want to do a run up this way!
:) |
Yeah Jamo, we work 4 on and 4 off, this week I have Friday through Monday, next week will be Saturday through Tuesday and so on, it sucks but I am trapped like a rat!!!:JEKYLHYDE
|
Amazing!!
We can have a traffic jam of Cobras for oysters, we can't get three more to go to Ohio. What is it, do you guys not think Ohio is prettier than Peteluma, Bodega Bay, and the beautiful Pacific Coast and drive through the winding Napa Valley? Never mind.... I can't believe I asked that question TURK |
Alright ERA!
Gordon--it may take awhile, but we're gonna have some fun this summer! |
