What are some of best mods you've done on your Cobra?

Here's mine:

#1 GN Powermaster !!! (Thanks BT!)

#2 Rhino Coat the Fuel tank

#3 1/8" rubber hose in the top Windshield channel (Cleans it up!)

#4 Fresh air vents to the footboxes...Now THAT"S cool!

#5 Two speed cooling fan (Low - High - OFF) ...always COOL!

#6 Gas charged Hood & Trunk Shocks (Excalibur)

# 7 Hidden antenna (Side of cowl)

What are your best?

#6 Gas charged Hood & Trunk Shocks (Excalibur)

ohekk,

Interested in the gas charged shocks for hood and trunk. How did you size the shocks for the two applications? Any science to it? Where did you get them?

I'm just building my kit and this sounds like a better alternative to the ratchet-type slides that were included.

Thanks,

Chuck

Gas charged Hood Shocks

CWMCOBRA,

Actually Excalibur did all the science...

Mine are Stabilus "Lift o Mat":

Hood - Part #752908 0250N 330/96

Trunk - Part #FEN117 0210N 315/92

Available from: Van Tech 952 808 8629

Or ...Stabilus has a Web site where you can find a distributor
near you.

#4 sounds good to me. I'm building an FFR and I'd like to figure a way to get
fresh air in the footboxes. Actually I'd like to tie it into the heater, but haven't
figured it out as yet. Any tips?

Thanks,

Jim T

Fresh air vents!

We used the set up from Cobra Restorers.

I modifed the vent housings to fit the openings in front.

Then I routed the tubes up in the space between the top of
the inner fender and fender..(Tight fit) down to the foot boxes

Then I modified a second set of housings to mount on the
side of the footboxes.

Let us know if you figure out a way to tie it into the heater.

for those of you that have automatics , my neighbor put a manual valve body in his hum j 7 so you got to shift but no clutch !

O2 mask in glove box. Stab throttle, and it auto unfurls in passengers lap. Great site gag for the inexperienced passenger, and gets howels everytime!

In response to the heater / Cool air mod I have a theory. I am running the standard heater/defroster that mounts under the dash. I works well and draws the air to blow from that area and uses the coolent to warm the air. I'm rebuilding my engine and and wanted to plumb the system with Earls/Aeroquip fittings and they make an inline valve that has a throw arm to open and close coolent flow. So, if you close the incoming coolent for 9 months a year and turn your heater on - you actually turn your cooler on. Haven't tried it but when I do I'll let you know how it works.

Jim T,

Go to ffcobra.com and look for the link to COBRAEARLS Creature Comforts. Earl has a kit for footbox ventilation.

Lots of little goodies and a few big ones. (for a daily driver anyway)
1: My lentec AOD tranny is great, especially matched up with a ratchet shifter.
2: I'm an old british sports car guy, so I like the look of the wood dash I made.
3: Built a cover for my K&N air cleaner so it is fed cool air. It gets the air from the right side brake duct opening. The idea is the faster I go the more of a RAM air effect (Poor mans blower)
4: Check out my pictures for a wild red white & blue stripe job. It was fun but took 8 hours to do! (No it is not permanent)

Tuned with a laptop computer

We tuned our latest Unique branded Cobra with a laptop.
The new fuel injection system designed by Momar EFI is billeted to look like the Weber Quads of old. The fuel rail is run between the "carb" bodies and the K&N filters hide the rest.

We hooked the car up to our emissions machine. It blew so clean you would have thought the car was not running!

And when it comes to Colorado's Highways, try driving from 5,280 (Mile High City) to 13,000 foot Mt Evans and never miss a beat!
" Yeah Baby that's what I'm talkin' about!"
