Sorry for your troubles Miles. Radiator replacements never go according to plan. Oh hell, who am I kidding, nothing ever goes according to plan. That is why I am planning all day, so maybe I will be a bit surprised and get done early. :JEKYLHYDE

Family Emrg
Joe, I have to back out on this weekend, a fmaily emergency has come up. If you do not get finished today, let me know I will have some time this week.

Well we ran into issues. It is a lot harder than they made it sound like getting in to the bolts you need. We got the exhaust mid pipe off, the tranny cross member off, starter off, and started lowering the back of the tranny so we could get the top 2 bolts off the bell housing off. That is where we ran into problems. The top right bolt we could not get a strait shot on it and using the knuckle just caused the socket to slip off. When we saw that the bolt was starting to round, we stopped and put the tranny back up and I took it to a shop.
Thanks Richard for the hook up on the shop. |
Joe, it wasn't for a lack of tryin Bud---thanks for the pizza, $%#@ bolt!

We did try. After catching that ratchet with my forehead, I look like I've had a botox treatment. :)

David,
Did you at least stop touching it? It did make for a lighter situation though. David: "It only hurts when I touch it" Richard: "Well stop touching it" |

Sorry Fred, no "Pichers" of the bump on Davids forehead. There are a few cell phone pics of the bastardized extension for the socket wrench we had to use. 3 of the hired hands took a picture of it.

What we thought was going to save us----note the number of units used to make the "extension!" |
Picture didn't come through Richard. Picked up the car and Tuesday and all is good now. It took a lot longer than Harry thought, but he only charged the labor that he quoted up front. He thought I had the older T-45 and not the Tremec T3550. Much harder to get out, so I don't feel bad that we could not get it. It took a shop who claims to do Mustangs all the time, the better 1/2 of a day just to remove the Transmission after we had taken the exhaust, driveshaft and starter off and the cross member bolts and most of the bell housing bolts were barely snugged up. Them top 2 are a mother.

Extension pictures.
This is the picture that Richard took. You can see why the thing kept slipping off. %/
