Default Upcoming Holiday Season (Donation)

Wanted to run this by the group -

Several expresssed an interest in this idea at todays meeting. Voluntary of course - each car/person/member donate $5.00. Pool the money and issue 2 checks, one to the Alzheimer, the other to leukemia foundations. Present to Mr. Maas (Classic BMW, Cars and coffee sponsor) on behalf of the Dallas Cobra Club.

I think it would be a great gesture of goodwill to help raise money for these 2 non-profit orgs., plus it sends a message of appreciation to Mr. Maas, Classsic BMW, and their staff for supporting and providing a venue for Cars and Coffee.

Your thoughts? commitment?

Francis

Francis,

Since I have not been to the event (yea I suck) does the event collect money for these two charities? I would want to make sure the money goes to the charity and not BMW.

So assuming this is yes it goes to the charty send me a PM with your address and I will get a check cut (assuming you want to be the money holder)

Richard can maybe present the check (and a donut) since he maybe the most famous of the group... or maybe John since his car was front and center in the picture in the paper.

Thumbs up

Send check to.
Francis Gabriel, PO Box 262172, Plano TX 75026-2172
Or we can collect at the next cars and coffee. My thinking is to have the proceeds by the second week in December.

The cashier check will be made our to each of the Foundations (NOT Classic BMW) from the Dallas Cobra Club. Attached to the check will be a letter acknowledging the individual members who contributed.

The events uses the NET proceeds from sale of water, coffee, etc. and just pure cash jar donations. To date, I believe BMW has donated $3500 between both charities.

If each car donated $5.00, say 20 cars, that's $50 for each foundation. That is a nominal sum. I think we have 8 acknowledgments so far. So if you can use your influence with other members, you assistance is appreciated.

Francis

I'm in even though I am in Oklahoma it is a good cause and I recently did a Susan G. Koman run and many of you made a donation to that foundation on my behalf. I think I can do a little better than $5 to each. After all this is the season for giving!

I have $165 so far, and I think I have 9 signatures on the signature blocks. I am hoping to wrap up the collection during our December meeting and get the checks out the following week. Any $$$ amount is appreciated..

If you can't make the December meeting, and want to contribute, mail to:
Francis Gabriel, PO Box 262172, Plano, TX75026-2172.
