Default Friday Jan. 22nd.

Who can join us for a fun run? Meet at the Sonic just north of 121 and Main St. in The Colony at 11:00am. We'll depart at 11:15 and head north to 380 over to 377 and up to the Red River. BuanaSanke knows the route. If you can make it...show up at 11:00am!

The day is going to be a killer day advise the boss to “Take This Job & .....it”. We will run up Hwy 377 to Lake Murray and then on up to Turner Falls about a 3.5 hr. deal round trip. Great turns and mt. roads, yes this close.

Bwana

Poop for Sam, poop for me.

New hire started last Tuesday; got to make sure he doesn't learn any bad habits. You guys watch out for cross traffic and manure trucks; you guessed it... poop on you.

Default Report

What a beautiful day! I got a sunburn in the Coupe. Three of us, Bwana Snake , damdfw, and I left the Colony at 11:30 and arrived at Lake Murray, Okla. about 1:00. If you've never been there, put it on your list. The drive around the lake is as good if not better than the Hill Country roads. No mechanical problems. damdfw got to "shake" his car down and feel how it handles on the road at speed. Bwana led most of the way, with his radar detector and his itunes rockin'. I didn't remember to take a camera (it's an age thing), however both Gary and David took theirs and ought to post some pics.
Thanks Gary for arranging...we need to do more of these.

We could have had a few more players like:, or or.

Default A couple of pics

I only got a few pics. I was more concerned with keeping up with these "old" guys.

We didn’t have time to make it all the way to Turner Falls which is the really the nieces part of this trip and the best cruising grounds. The route around the south part of the lake is rally nice with lots of lake views, turns and numerous elevation changes. With Turner Falls you would add the element of shear drop offs combined with radical turns.

Lake Murray Lodge has a fairly nice hotel / restaurant bar along with individual cabins, pick neck areas with BBQ pits, swimming pool, boating and a golf course. We talked to one of the managers and they told us they start bookings almost a year in advance.

I suggest we consider doing an overnight event there in the fall, say September. Go up Saturday morning cruse the lake that afternoon, do a BBQ that night and then cruse Turner Falls the next morning.

Speak up if you are interested we would need to make some reservations now if we want to do this.

Gary

Did y'all take 377 to Madill/Oakland then turn west on 70 ?

Or 377 to 32 to 77s ?

That looks and sounds like a real nice day ride !
