LOOK What's In My Garage!!!

Well look what found it's way home from Austin to my garage today!! Finally picked up the carbon fiber Cobra roller today......Wow the weather coming back from Austin seemed to be some squaws from Hurricane Alex that hit Mexico. Had a new Ford F250 Super Duty with the new 6.7Ford Diesel and Rob's trailer and man the truck is nice. Didn't even know the trailer and car was behind me. Well next steps is to plan the engine and lots of other fun little stuff....

Congratulations! Fine looking Exact there Gary. Can't wait to see it on the road. What is the engine story?

flyboy1997 07-02-2010 09:24 PM

Looks good Gary, might be showing my ignorance but Lynn asked what is it & I don't know ? What or who makes it ?

Wendall,

It's an Exact Cobra made in Austin, Texas. He built 12 cars and this was actually his demo/showroom car and he is building a new one now. They are duplicates of a CSX3000 and the body is made out of Carbon Fiber. The body only weighs 64 lbs. Frame is round tube like original, same suspension, etc. It's really a cool car. My engine plan is a Keith Craft FE most likely a 496 with a solid roller and TKO600. Still debating a few things like aluminum block or not etc. Not rushing as it's too darn hot to work on it any way so probably won't be on the road until fall some time as Keith is 5 to 6 weeks out on a motor and I haven't even ordered it yet. Lots of Cobras in the past and have to say I'm extremely excited about this one and love the attention to detail on the frame, supension etc....;)

Gary, beautiful car. Roger does nice work. A KC 496 would finish that off nicely.

Roger does great work, that does look sweet congrats. Ally bodies weigh around 50 lbs. Glass depends alot on thickness and breed.

Stunning! Simply stunning car!

I've never seen a carbon fibre Cobra up close before. How good is the panel fit and gaps? Does it compare well with the nice tight fibreglass on a Superformance, for instance?

VERY NICE!!!

Congrats on getting back to Cobras, I have gone without before, no fun :(
