Pacific Coast Highway Tour
Hi Gang:
Just got back from the tour of the Pacific Coast Highway. We shipped 13 Cobras from north Texas to San Jose (and San Francisco) in two car transports. We met up in San Jose and drove to San Diego over the next 5 days with stops in Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Monica and Del Mar.
I have to tell you, the attention garnered by 10 plus Cobras driving down the highway or pulling onto the Santa Barbara Pier is amazing. My wife said it was like being on a 700 mile parade. My favorite reaction was by a bike rider in Santa Monica who stopped and watch all our cars roar down a canyon road toward PCH. We were last in line...his simply laid his hand over his heart...nuff said.
Thanks to Francis, we even got to ride in Skip Barber Mazdas (with instructors driving) around Laguna Seca. We thought these would be parade laps but turned out to be amazing duals between three of four instructors who were doing what I would call hot laps.
The views of the line of Cobras climbing the sweeping curves around the Big Sur section of PCH are hard to describe...just breathtaking.
This is a big time bucket list adventure!

Cars on the famous 17 Mile road around Pebble Beach
Cars on the Santa Barbara Pier where we had lunch
Some of the gang at a restaurant in Santa Monica where a local Cobra guy set up a great dinner at a local "celebrity dive"

Very cool cruise! I rode that same route on my bicycle a few times, and Hwy. 1 going south is the best part of the ride. I dream about driving my Cobra down the coast in the future and experiencing the breath taking views along with the curvy roads.
Thanks for the great pictures. Bill

8 days, three rocker arms, 800 miles. Tired, but satisfied. Too many highlights, or too much wine, Just can't remember it all.

Very cool guys. Gary....loved the video! All I needed was to have a fan blowing at me and it would be like sitting in the back seat cruising with you>

Court...those are great pictures. I really like the one of all us gathered in front of the men's rooms looking at a map...made me laugh out loud.

We hope you each had a real good time. You certainly hit the weather right, and were driving on some of the most breath taking routes in our state.

Court:
I'm green with envy. Central coast is one of my all time favorite drives. Glad you had a chance to stop at Napenthe. Used to be stop #1 on our "Sunday Eat and Drink Your Way Back to Carmel for a Nightcap at the Hogs Breath" runs.

Nepenthe was the worst part of the trip by far. We didn't even have a good view from our tables. Maybe it is the Texan coming out in me but it was almost like they did us a favor by letting us eat there. Georges on the cove in San Diego had a bit of the same attitude. I don't get it. Other than that the trip was great! There was some nice driving between Monterey and San luis obispo. I could do the whole trip again tomorrow

New York to Texas Transport
Hello,
Need to transport Cobra from New York to Portland Texas, who did you use to transport your cars to San Jose? (which is where I just moved away from after 60 years there) (I recognize every background in your pictures)
Wow, prices have gone up since I last had a car transported, so I'm looking around.
thanks,
Wayne

Georges has a great location right on the beach in La Jolla. Sorry you had a bad experience there.
