Default Eagle's Canyon Groupon

Today's Groupon is a race experience at Eagle's Canyon raceway near Decatur.
Here's an opportunity to be more like Larry and drive a Formula Ford!

For that price, you get a 45-minute classroom orientation and 10-minutes of driving.
Wow (yawn).

Default Places to Drive Around Town

I am trying to find some places around Dallas where I can drive the Cobra. Anything from a private track (without some huge initiation and monthly fees) to some country road that is not heavily policed.

Any ideas?

Jason

Try this place. It's in Caddo Mills.

Jason,
Here's a driving idea: find a member of a track (MSR/Eagles Canyon) and go as a guest. Same requirements as members--driver's gear, driver's meeting, solo sign-off--but without the high cost. I'm at Eagles Canyon; not sure who on here might be at MSR-Cresson. Bryan at Lonestar is a corporate member at MSR.

Jason,
I'm a member of ECR. Give me some advance notice and I will get you in as a guest. Check the "open track" or "members" day schedule on ECR's web. 972-489-0626

I'm with Jason, willing to get a guest on the track at Eagles Canyon. (you pay the fee, sign off to solo in YOUR car with YOUR driving gear (not mine)). Let me know. It would be fun to have a group together on the same day.

My car is not a Cobra. Its a "79 Camaro GT1/AIX track only car and is not for rookies. Lets see if I got this correct. You want to drive my car, use my equipment, and let you drive this car solo. You must be high on something. That will never happen.
My offer is for a guy with a Cobra to have a great day on a race track making some laps. If thats not you, bring a camera, you can watch.

(Clarification) My reply was to qmaster regarding how to get on track. I will partner with wiley alexander to help get more people on the track at Eagles Canyon. For example, if two guys want to come out, it would take two members to get them in.

Why do the guests need to bring their own stuff? Background of the problem: I brought out my new BMW 5-series when Eagles Canyon had its very first member day years ago (no one had a key to the gate so we climbed the fence and used bolt cutters on the lock). My Bimmer got thrashed all day because the instructor "LOVED its race manners and felt it was the most comfortable car" to sign off the newbies.

I got kuddos for that "act of kindness"...and needed new brakes and tires. wiley alexander, I was not high on something that day, just a big sucker for the sport.

Never again.

"Hey man, can I borrow your helmet for my friend over there?" HA!

Miles:

I know a guy that has a Lola Formula Ford that rents it out and if you really want to experience the thrill of passing in the corners, out breaking your competition, driving over 100+ mph wheel to open wheel, in a small cockpit that is well over 100 degrees in temperature, having rocks, bugs and flying debries smack you in the head,,,then I've got a number for you. Give me a call.

With an offer like that, Larry, how can I decline? Sounds great!
I need to get this electrical prob behind me for good and get back on the track. I do miss it so!
