Default Do you drive it or just talk about it?

Question; annually how many miles do you log and what percentage is with your groups cruises vs. individually?

I drive about 4000 miles annually in my SPF.

Rarely go on group cruises.

I only do about 4500 miles a year, so I am probably in the just talk about it category.

I love my wee morning hours cruises on Sunday... so perhaps more driving on my own rather than group cruises. Never too cold for me, sometimes a bit too hot though. I try to avoid wet pavement, but sometimes a cloudburst sneaks up on me.

Dude, you are in the "I drive it" category.

Guys that "just talk about it" drive about 200 miles a year.

I would have to say talk about it. I have about 4,500 miles since 2002. As much as I love the car the family has to come first so 4 seats are frequently a must.

I would like to think I am in the drive group but I only put about 2,500 miles on each of the last 2 years. I split my driving about 50/50 between cruisin' with others and just by myself.

I am very pleased that Sandy has decided the Cobra is a cool way to go to dinner lately. We try and find a place with a nice patio area and keep an eye on the car. That does not chalk up a lot of miles but is a lot of fun.

I, think we might fall into the drive group. About 3500 to 4000 a year depending on the weather. With snow and salt it kind of hampers driving through Nov to about April. I try to get some miles in during the cold winters here in Maryland (26*) and no top. Now the heat is killing / burning us up 100*+. Quite a few miles with other cobra groups.

I would have to fall under the Talk About It catagory. I did just get it rebuilt and on the road at the end of last summer and have put more miles on it sence then than the previous 4 years combined. If i could find a place to mount the overhead DVD and put in a rumble seat for the wife and 4 kids it might get a litte more drive time. Typically more than one of them want to go with me everytime i go somewhere. When i do take just one in the Cobra I constantly have to warn them about the HOT SIDEPIPES or they WILL get burned everytime. I think the average for me will be 1000-2000 miles a year until my kids get old enough to not want to be around me anymore. Then the sky is the limit.

I drive it every chance I get.

I've put over 6,000 miles on it in two years, which is a lot given the climate in Ottawa and the sh*tty weather we seem to get, especially on weekends. :-(

If you don't drive it, what would be the point?

About 3500 miles per year for me, typically alone or driving with my son. Rarely do I get together with a group for a cruise, but it is fun when I do.

My 8 year-old son is just beginning to realize that the Cobra is "different" than the Tahoe or the Jeep---nobody gives us a thumb's up in the other cars.

Around 3,500 - 4,000 year, makes me a driver??

The weather in Portland only allows for about 4 months a year

I probably do about 5K miles a year - give or take. It's a driver. Sometimes (like last night) we took a cruise around town for a while, stopped for dinner and custard, then went home. Not a lot of miles that way, but about 1.5-2.0 hours of actual drive time.

I drive with the club whenever I can. It's a good group of people and we have a good time. And, there's something pretty awesome about the sight and sound of 15 Roadsters cruising through the canyons and mountains.

We also take a long trips, too. Sometimes a week of cruising (Cruise Colorado), a week end trip, or even a week long business trip. It's comfortable, fun to drive, gets good gas mileage, so, why not? We've driven in all kinds of weather: blazing heat, frigid cold, rain, snow, sleet, hail, brightesrt of days, darkest of nights. You name it we've hit it.

We also race a fair amount. Usually about 12-16 days a year.

So I guess you could say our car is a driver.

I drive the Cobra about 4500 miles per year. I do have a '04 Viper that has 78000 miles on it. I tell people that are surprised by the mileage on the Viper that I didn't buy it for my wife's next husband if I have a heart attack and die---I bought it for ME

I'm averaging about 3800 miles a year with 800 having been added on our PCH cruise last September. This September we're going to cruise South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore, Chief Crazy Horse, etc. I put a lot of miles on with early morning or late afternoon rides just north of us on some very nice farm to market roads. Some of the local Constables are starting to recognize me and usually give me a thumbs up when I go by.

I drive mine, and talk about it. Like to go on the cruises but they are a few and far between in my area. I like the car shows also, doesn't bother me to sit in my lawn chair in the middle of a bunch of beautiful cars with car people.
I agree with the early morning and late afternoon drives in the heat that we are having, but me and my wife did take a 540mile jaunt last weekend and I ended up looking like a lobster!
Sun screen only does so much!

Our driving season in the Northwet is about three and a half months but I still manage about 6 or 7K a year. I got the car to drive it and I do that whenever I can.
I make one long (5 or 6 day) cruise a year (about 1200 miles) with the Denver club (Cruise Colorado) that is a total blast. A couple of other 3 day localish events and the rest is done through weekend get togethers and solo drives. I'll sometimes drive the car to these events even when they're 500 miles away. Other times I'll trailer to the event.
During the normal non-driving portion of the year I still try to get out if we get at least a 2 day break in the weather.
Not a big fan of entering shows although I do one or two a season if it's for one of the local charities.

Default Driver - Definately

I'm on Cobra #2 now. #1 drove it 12,000 miles in 2 years, #2 just turned 19,000 in 3.5 years. This includes probably 1,000 miles of track time.
