July 2nd DFW Breakfast Meeting...

Dear DFW Cobra Brethren,

Our First-Saturday-of-the-Month-Meet is upon us again. We are in full breakfast mode. I hope we will see all new members and a few AWOL old timers that we haven't seen in a while.

If there are no objections, I would like to return to Jake's "Addison" (at 5505 Belt Line Road "Addison") which is now serving breakfast.
You will recall that Jake's is contributing a percentage of every TCC sale to Operation Comfort.

So... without any discord, I would like to poll the room.

Do we arrive

• at 6:30am because I want to drive my cobra so bad, I can't sleep.
• at 7:00am because I want to come early, but the rest of you think any mention of the 0600 hour is insane.
• at 7:45am because it makes the most sense.
• at 8:30am because I have to wait for her to get ready.
• at 9:15am because I'm afraid to wake my neighbors.
• at 10:00am because I am extreme, it doesn't get hot in DFW until August 21st, and I want to order off the lunch menu anyway.

My guest and I will defer to the arrival time decision you all make. WE, myself, and my GUEST, look forward to seeing you all... look forward to talking cobra, look forward to trying Jake's breakfast fare, look forward to raising more cash for OC, and look forward to seeing all available members.

The colonel will coming with me, so bring your autograph pen. He is 89, but might be willing to entertain anyone interested with a story or two of the 39 outings there and back piloting his lady in the Pacific Theater...

... or perhaps a story or two from one of the 199 missions he and his Danang based 8th Bombardment Liberty Squadron of B57 Canberra Nightfighters flew into the Jaws of the Cat of Death back in '68-'69.

Very cool pics and love to meet this hero!!!! I'm up early every morning walking the dogs prior to heading into the office so now on the weekend I'd prefer either 8:30am breakfest or 10:00am breakfast/lunch.

Jay

LREYBURN 07-01-2011 03:14 PM

Hey Marlboro Man..."no smoking"? Does this mean (a.) you're not smoking after the Russo Steele issues, or (b.) have you really decided to stop the habit?

jayscobras 07-01-2011 03:43 PM

15 days so far. I lit the last cigarrette in a pack and my lighter ran out of fuel.

Figured it was an omen. Still carrying bail money in case Dee ticks me off.

Jay

jdean 07-01-2011 10:05 PM

I am upping the ante, there will be 3 seats now for me.

8:30am it is...

Looking forward to seeing you all.

The Colonel and I will be sans cobra. Went out at 5:30pm today for a test drive and fill up. The consensus seem to be a failed coil. It was uphill from there the whole way, and just got her back home and garaged.

jdean 07-01-2011 10:33 PM

John, that is a 30.00 and fifteen minute fix. C'mon. Poor Katrina......no love!!
