Default Hot!

Damn it's hot!

We need to plan a "midnight run" one of these weekends. We used to do it all the time in the summer with the motorcycle group I used to ride with. We could even make it fun and make it a "bug run." Anybody ever done a "bug run"?

Never done a bug run but sounds fun. At least it's only 85 at night!

Joe, I saw where it was hotter in the Metroplex a couple of days ago than it was down here in the Valley....go figure.

BTW....How was the LCS...I plan to go next year...couldn't make it this year.

Joe:

I am really glad to see someone trying to find a way to drive our cars. I tried driving mine yesterday afternoon and it was miserable. I think a midnight run or even a very, very early Saturday or Sunday run would be fun. Maybe start out at 4 or 5am...maybe watch the sunrise...and end up at breakfast.

Cool Bacon & Egg Run...

An early morning cruise...meet somewhere for the Eastsiders and the Westsiders; around 6:00 to 6:15; fun run for a couple of hours and end up in force at a "Great Chevy" show. Have breakfast and split!...

From Hot Rod Happenings web site

Aug 13 / Saturday / 8 am - 10:30 am Carrollton/Dallas, Texas
2011 Shows: 4/09 , 5/14 , 6/11 , 7/09 , 8/13 , 9/10 , 10/08
Late Great Chevy's 2nd Saturday of the Month Car Show. New this year ... show location: Norma's cafe in Carrollton, the North West corner of Trinity Mills and the Dallas North Tollway (Legacy Bank is on the Corner), not to be confused with Norma's on Beltline, a previous location or ours about 10 years ago. If you haven't eaten at the new Norma's you are missing out. Entry: $10. All judging will be done by Late Great Chevys Club, no classes, just the top 10 or more based on participation. Also seriously considering a motorcycle class. Let us know what you think. Instead of plaques or trophies a cash prize will be awarded. Right now we are planning on $20 and $50 to the best of show. DJ and 50/50 pot. Info: Jim Crossland at cland @delta-v.com.

Careful, don't suggest a run on the First Saturday of the month--you'll get your asp handed to you! However, to circle back around a early morning drive is one of my favorites and I'm sure we can find restaurants that would let us visit. :-)
