Default Dallas Club Saturday get together

Just getting this going. I am hoping we are doing the breakfast ... 108 yikes.

I did not got to Jakes last month but sounds like good middle ground to me.

Aw Sammy, it's only 111 there today.
Should cool off to a balmy 107 this weekend.

Default The only way to avoid the heat is to get up deathly early.

The only way to avoid the heat is to get up deathly early. Seems the sword cuts one way or the other.

Last month's polling had a concensus of 0830 arrival... do I hear a motion for something earlier?

Brian has made a motion for something in the vicinity of Addison. I second that. Back to Jake's or something better? Call it and I will be there.

I submit a motion for October 1st when it's 75 degrees!
Too darn hot to drive these cars at least at my age. I baked coming home last month at 10am, 96 degrees and extremely humid. Probaby will pass this month.......

The earlier the better--maybe meet at 8:00. Jakes or somewhere in that direction sounds good. I'm taking the cobra to a shop this afternoon. Not looking forward to that since it is already 107!

Hey Jerry,
Any chance you could bring a bag of Cleco's??

I'll be there. 8:00 is good.

It's so hot today that was sweat, not tears.

Gee I thought I did melt. When I got home last month I felt like I had my head in the oven for 20 mins. Walked into the house with my face all red and my wife said, "So this is fun!". Maybe it has something to do with burning my face when I was a kid. I was 8 and a friend and me put gas in a kerosene torch and of course it blew up and burned my face. 2nd and a couple 3rd degree burns...Oh well I'll see what it's like Saturday am and may come without the car. How about a real breakfast place like IHop or International Pancake house. There's a nice International Pancake on 121/Tollway in Frisco and a nice IHop on 121 in the Colony and another one the north Tollway in Frisco at Main street? They do have some private rooms at the Internation PC.

Any of the places in The Colony or Frisco would be great.

Anneliese and I will be staying the Westin Stonebriar at 121 and Legacy in Frisco Saturday for a wedding. We are going early so us south-side Ellis county poor white folk can take a dip in the big "CEE-ment pond".

If the TCC meeting time is close by and not too early, maybe we can get an even earlier start and catch up with old friends for breakfast too....

Hey anyone want to try the new Norma's Cafe at the Dallas North Tollway and Trinity Mills (17721 Dallas North Tollway, Ste. 130 Dallas, TX 75287). Jay and I talked about going here several months ago and it's in general area of Addison not to far from Jakes?

Well I agree with Steve going to be too hot for me. At this point since there wasn't much response on resturants let's leave it at Jakes as originally posted and we'll do Norma's in the fall sometime when more are attending.....

Default Jakes for Breakfast - Give me a Headcount

Perhaps we were all confused on where to show up and just holding back.

The forum has been a bit slow, and true some will be up at Hallett, and yes its going to be hot, but remember that the whole thing isn't about the cars, its about the people.

I haven't seen Jay Nordstrom in a Cobra since summer of '06 and he rarely misses a monthly get together. Gary has likewise regular attendance... always there, but only recently jumping back into the game with his 6th Cobra, after nearly a five year hiatus.

So bring your cobra or bring your daily driver to Jakes in Addison for iced coffee at 0730, breakfast at 0800. I promise it won't rain this time.

Looking forward to seeing old friends and new alike... "con vel sine naja."

Brian promises you all will be home by 10am, but personally I am waiting for it to get a little hotter.
