Okay folks, being the geek that I am, I'll do this scientifically....1 point for each preferred date, 0.5 for each workable date. And the winner so far is Dec 8th with 7+ points (to 4). I was hoping to hear from a couple of the regulars (and irregulars :3DSMILE: ) by now, so come on guys -- please enter your votes -- nothing is set in stone yet!

I'll wait until Monday to make an executive decision on the date and make reservations. So stay tuned here for the result. Hopefully that's not too late for anyone to plan their other activities.

Would be great if some of the non-preferred-date voters could juggle some other commitments and still make it.

We can plan the route later, but I know that Ed and cammer are south of 2222/620 intersection, Gregg is north, Tony is way south, and Gerhardt is northeast. Who else is where?

Jeff, haven't thought about that, but I have been thinking that if it's a tie (which it's so close to right now), we'll have to split the difference and meet in the middle. That means 11 PM on Tuesday Dec 11th. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Seriously though, the longer the drive, the smaller the turnout, especially at this busy time of year, so we should prefer to keep it close and get a good group together.

Peace brudda-man (Trinidadian phrase).

I am in Cedar Park. Not too far. But I'm game no matter how far. I just know I'll be ready to get away by then. I have my kids on the 15th so I can't make it then. (Unless someone has room in the shotgun seat for a 5 & 7 year old):JEKYLHYDE

Ed Csoltko 11-29-2001 03:09 PM

Richard, Kyle, Barry, and Scott have not voted. Richard is in walking distance to the County Line. Just remember, rain or shine, Cobras or no Cobras, show up for the fellowship!:3DSMILE:

Gregg(What's his name)? 11-29-2001 05:46 PM

What about the dimpled chads?

Neil,

You forgot about the dimpled Chads, the hanging chads and anybody elses chad that I may have forgotten about!:3DSMILE:
The 8th is cool. Perhaps the weather will pe nice and perfect.

What time are we meeting on the 8th?

Gregg H

Couldn't have put it better, Ed... "Just remember, rain or shine, Cobras or no Cobras, show up for the fellowship!"

Charmer: I'd really love it if the tough decisions in my life were about which party to attend. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Gregg: can you repeat that in English please?

Snakecharmer 11-30-2001 08:08 AM

I believe they open at 11 for lunch. I personally would like to get there close to 11am and get seated before noon. I've got that drive to Dallas afterwards. Plus, we'll beat the crowd.

If the weather is nice and someone else would like to caravan, I'm considering driving the Cobra to Dallas. Anybody up for a 3 hour road trip???

Charmer

Cobra Dude 11-30-2001 08:17 AM

They actually open at 12 noon, so I had made reservations for that time. Also, they cannot "reserve" a front parking area for us. I figure we should meet there at 11am, hang out for a bit, and initiate the self-gorging at noon. But I'm not making that official yet until we get more responses over the weekend. So shhhhh.... don't tell anyone yet.

L8r.

Snakecharmer 11-30-2001 09:17 AM

Good plan :D

jkbedell 11-30-2001 09:59 AM

Charmer,
Sounds like fun if it's not too cold. Do you have a place to park the roadsters if I join you?:D

Snakecharmer 11-30-2001 10:18 AM

That would be GREAT fun :) I've got a couple of walkie talkies that we could use to chat on the way! Tom has a two car trailer and a big shop, either of which we could probably use. I'll check with him. Heck, he's the kind of guy that would trailer us back to Cedar Park if the weather turned bad :) Right Tom???!!!

Charmer

Ed Csoltko 11-30-2001 03:54 PM

Good luck using walkie talkies in a Cobra! Cammer and I could not hear each other driving to Marbel Falls. The engine roar drowned out the audio. Your better using hand signals.

jkbedell 11-30-2001 09:35 PM

I know! We could use my 2-way radios in conjunction with my race helmets I normally use for racing. Then we can hear. Wouldn't we look great going down IH35 wearing race gear?

BTBusbee 11-30-2001 09:52 PM

The date makes no difference to me. I will try to make it on either weekend.

Barry

Cobra Dude 11-30-2001 10:22 PM

Barry, that's the right answer. :D

Score = 8 f/8th, 5 f/15th.

Keep 'em coming folks!

County Line sounds like fun. I'll be in Austin that weekend so I'll see you all around 11am. Unfortunately, I pick up my car from Doug Reed the week AFTER the 8th. Oh well, that's the way it goes. Nonetheless, see you guys then.

If anyone needs directions, let me know. My cell number is 512-799-2645 in case you need to contact me.

If rain or no Cobra, show up still. Hoping those who didn't respond can make it still, as well as those who preferred the 15th. This is the last time you'll meet for 2001 so come on out, even if its for a short time.

Cheers,
-Neil.
