5th Annual Shelby Car Show - June 21st

Upcoming is the 5th Annual Shelby Car Show presented by LegacyTexas Bank. As always, we are excited to have you participate in our car show this year. If this is your first time to display a car, we welcome you to one of the biggest car shows in the Southwest. This one day event is free to the public and car participants and will feature Shelby American’s latest vehicles, including the 624 HP Shelby GT/SC and the limited addition 50th Anniversary Shelby FIA Cobra. It commemorates Shelby American’s 1964 introduction of the FIA version of the small block Cobra and celebrates its accomplishments as one of the most important cars in American racing history.

The show will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with Shelby American’s high performance line-up which includes:

· The terrain-dominating Shelby Raptor

· The wickedly powerful GT500 Super Snake

· Cars from the Shelby family’s private collection

Some of the new features of the show you can expect to see this year are:

· Ford’s Ultimate Fan Zone

· Ford’s Spin to Win Prize Wheel

· And making its Texas debut, introducing the new Carroll Shelby Merchandise Trailer. For the first time, fans will have a chance to purchase Shelby merchandise during the event from the Carroll Shelby’s Store merchandise trailer. Carroll Shelby’s Store “on wheels” will carry die casts, signs and authentic Shelby apparel which includes hats, jackets and shirts. It will have a unique selection of rare memorabilia such as legacy items signed by Carroll Shelby and limited edition prints.

Also on hand this year is ESPN’s favorite sportscaster and voice of the Mavericks, Chuck Cooperstein, who will be here onsite from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. talking live with Aaron Shelby about our show and giving away ESPN prizes.

We anticipate about 175+ Mustangs and Cobras this year with a large fan base following. If you have a friend or colleague that would be interested in displaying their Mustang or Cobra, please have them contact me or refer them to our LegacyTexas Bank website:

Just a reminder to get your rsvp in for the show at Legacy Texas for Saturday 6/21. Show attendance is free as always, and attendees receive a nice goodie bag. Last year's bag had:
- shirt
- poster
- $10 for on-site food/drink
- drink coozie
- assortment of promo stuff from Shelby American and Legacy Texas (key chain, gum pack, sticky notes, etc).

This years show promises to better than the last.

Get your rsvp in so you will have a goodie bag with your name on it. Online Registration is easy and at this link.

More information on the show can be found here.

I have had alot of fun for the past four shows just hanging out with the "TCC family." Opportunities to meet and talk with Lew Spencer and Bill Neale from the vintage days, and John Luft and Gary Patterson from the new Shelby American have also been fun.

I do like the look of this year's poster.

We usually arrive individually and park in the designated Cobra display area, which is the "Drive In Bank" lane. You turn in off of southbound Preston Road where the sign says enter for the Drive In Bank. There will be SCAT volunteers directing you at that point.

The detailed instructions sent to registered entrants say to arrive by 8:30 am if you are a show participant  Do what you think you can, but this is usually a zoo. If we don't occupy our spot, they will back fill with Mustangs ;) Late arrivals may not be able to park with the rest of the group.

Bring a folding chair!

Ditto.

Will be a zoo for sure:
- The Shelby Raptor Experience is being marketed hard.
- The Legacy Show, now in its 5th year is being advertised in Ford Car Forums in Texas and surrounding states.
- Chuck Cooperstein's show has been mentioning on-location broadcasting all week.

Some will arrive at 8:00, some at 8:30, most around 9:00. Try not to be any later than 9:15

So far I know we will need parking spots for these TCC members:
L Reyburn
R Parker
CobraKid
D Wallace
D Cheever
D Meyer
Dr. Tom
C Smith
F Gabriel
B Scamardo
G Thompson
G Smith
G Sato
G Sharapata
G Pete
J Meyer
J Martin
J Jacobs
J Hopkins
J Ross
J Wagner
J Shelton
Coyote Mike
The Tick
R Russell

I will expand the count by 50% for those of you not yet chiming in and tell them we need 427, 289, Coupe parking for 36

Texasdoc 06-18-2014 12:48 PM

I'm coming. I know David is coming too. Add two to the list.

BDR1222 06-18-2014 02:12 PM

+1 for Coyote Mike, I registered late last week.

Tickwomp 06-18-2014 03:27 PM

We don't want to stress out the SCAT volunteers by getting there too early, lest ye get roped into parking dignitary cars and/or handing out flyers, say 8:20(?)
