Question Title Questions

When looking for a Cobra to buy, I saw many listed as "titled as a 66 or 67". The Lone Star Cobra I recently purchased is titled in Utah as a "1999 Lone Star". I was told the car would not have any inspection issues since the engine was a '64.

Will someone please shed some light on the advantages or disadvantages of having the 1999 titled car. Also, when I register the car in Texas a new title will be issued. Any chance I can have the new title issued as a '67?

Thanks in advance for any input on this topic.

Car should arrive this week!!!

Thanks,

Matt Longhofer

Matt,

I think this title thing might soom become a problem for us Cobra guys. I went to Titles Unlimited and they handled the paperwork for me. I had not previously registered the car and that was a question that was asked. I can't tell you if they can help you with a car that has already been titled. You can look them up on the web. www.titlesunlimitedinc.com.

I can tell you that there is also becoming an insurance problem with cars registered in the more recent years. I recently had to change my insurance company, ( I promise I won't start guys) for some unforeseen reasons, and found that alot of insurance companies are only insuring the Cobras that have the 65, 66 ect year registration and titleing. Yes you can still get insurance for your car I just don't know how much it will cost you.

Your side bar shows you live in Flower Mound. I live in Keller and there are several other guys that live real close to me. Clay Fugate, the Pidler (Greg Rice) live real close. Send me an email StevParks@aol.com. Greg and Clay both have Lone Star Cobras.

The new fee for Cobras is $325. The correct URL is www.titlesunlimitedinc.com. You can print out an adobe acrobat application for and send it in.

Good Luck. I am in the process right now and I will let you know if I run across any shortcuts. Please let me know if you have discovered an alternative.
