I'll be there!

I'll be up for the AER show with Ray Russell. My FFR is staying home because my back can't take a four hour ride in an uncivilized car.

Tom (ERA600HP); I'm assuming your going to the AER show. If so, bring some TCC window stickers with you. Glenn Garrett wants 10 stickers and two XL tee shirts. Glenn also needs TCC Business Cards.

Dallas-FW members; Those of you who took videos of the 2002 Spring Meet, could you duplicate a VHS tape for me and bring it to the AER show. I'm trying to collect as much video and make a master tape. Thanks in advance.

TCC May meeting? NTMC cruise?

Is the AER show going to be the location for the monthly TCC (Dallas) meeting?

Also, is anyone planning to run over to Lewisville for the North Texas Mustang Club cruise nite at Cracker Barrell after AER?

See y'all Saturday bright and early!:D

427Aggie 05-01-2002 05:34 PM

Yes and I don't know if they are doing cracker barrel or not? NTM is sponsering AER isn't it?

The weather man said the dirty word this morning. Tom, you need to pull some strings?

I do not know at this point if I will be able to make it Saturday but we are trying. Crazy as this sounds, won't know for sure 'till Saturday morn. I am getting the car ready just in case, but I may have to trailer it there. I sthere a place to park the trailer. Seems like I remember some warehouse parking lots all around, right?

Tomorrows Weather?

Okay Dallas; what do you think? Will the AER show be rained out for this Saturday? The national weather is predicting 10% increasing to 40% by late evening. No rain in Austin (again). What does everyone think?

No rain on Saturday

It's pissing down in Dallas this morning (Friday) but the weather forecast I heard this morning is for the rain to clear by noon today, and tonight-tomorrow to be partly cloudy and in the 80's.

Here is the forecast from http://www.dallasnews.com/weather/

"Rain and thunderstorms early today will diminish in coverage this afternoon. The stronger storms will produce some hail, gusty winds locally heavy rain. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible over the weekend. The best chance for rain appears to be Saturday night into Sunday. "

...and from http://www.nbc5i.com/weather/

Dallas County
FORECAST FOR ALL OF NORTH TEXAS

TODAY:
Morning Rain and Thunderstorms, some severe, mainly to the south
Rain Ending by Noon
High: 73-76
Wind: NE 5-10 mph

TONIGHT:
Partly Cloudy
Low: 64

SATURDAY:
Partly Cloudy with Showers or Thunderstorms by Evening
High: 83
Wind: SE 8-15 mph

I'm taking the optimistic approach - of course I have a metal roof over my head, too :D

4RE KLR 05-03-2002 08:12 AM

Bobby "the weatherman" Worley,

So does all that jibberish mean it "IS" going to rain or "IS NOT" going to rain.

At this point I am fairly sure I will go "BUT" I will take the car in the trailer so I can pop it inside just in case. Hey I paid for the thing I may as well get some use out of it.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Kathy and I were heading up to Hurst for tomorrows AER show and decided to stay home. We're betting the AER show will get rescheduled for next Saturday because of all the Dallas rain. Hopefully I get to see everyone next week.**)

392cobra 05-03-2002 09:48 AM

betting on good weather

david,
i think the weather will be just fine tomorrow and i'll be there with my son.
are you still going to make it ?

Rollersnake 05-03-2002 10:03 AM

Weather?

Fred,
The weather, according to Accuweather looks like it will be fine. I am looking forward to the AER show.

I found out from one of my friends that the Laps for Charity event is Sat. from 6:00-10:00 pm at the Texas Motor Speedway. So you know where I am headed after the AER show. They open the track to the public and you get 3 laps for $25. It benefits the Speedway Childrens Charities.

Spread the word
David

427Aggie 05-03-2002 11:51 AM

Roller who is the sponsor for laps for charity? I know the one on Sunday cobra replicas are not welcome.

Matt

T.M.S.

Matt,

Sorry didn't get your post until this morning (5-6-02) but to answer your question the Speedway Childrens Charities is a non-profit foundation that distributes funds to qualified childrens charities. Go to www.texasmotorspeedway.com and click on Speedway Childrens Charities for more info.

I asked several cobra club members at the car show if they were interested in the event. THIS EVENT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH SHELLBY, yes he had his trailers there set up for Sunday but this was a totally stand alone event.
I went and took six laps and had a great time, got to help out some local kids in the process.

Yea one of the guys that works for me went Saturday in his 99 cobra and ran the track....I guess the next time they do it is in August.

Matt

Ed Csoltko 05-06-2002 11:01 AM

So what happened?

So how did the Cobras do at the AER show? Anything exciting happen, like rain or awards? Who showed up?

427Aggie 05-06-2002 11:24 AM

I think we had about 18-19 cobra's this year. Had a couple of neat cars....auburn boattail, aston martin DB7 (got to sit in this one).

Had a really good time and the weather couldn't have been better.

Matt
