I don't think it was my finger that time. I'll have to figure out what happens on that first word. Thanks for the tip on the doors. I'll take the panels off and see what I have.
The car is car is a CMC 1966 Cobra. It was finished in March by a guy in Tyler, TX. He bought the kit from an original owner about three years ago. I has a 351W with a mild cam and a 650 Holley. Mustang 2 front end and 8.8 Mustang rear. I have some springs and coil overs coming from John York for the rear end. It tends to touch the fender well rims when you hit a bump. I'd like to refinish the interior as I think the fellow in Tyler ran out of enthusiasm toward the end of the build. Then I'll do some work on the engine. I love the car and am anxious to get it where I feel it should be. Then I'll get around to some of the Club activities.
Looking forward to meeting you at some point.

Popeye,

Welcome to the club.

I'm willing to bet that your fender rubbing problem is not due to spring/shock rates, unless you know that it is ridiculously low. My guess is that you have the same problem I've noticed on CMC's and most other Cobra kits running a Mustang 8.8 rear suspension -- the chassis (forward) attach points for the lower control arms are lower than they should be. So you take a not-so-great-in-the-first-place suspension and screw up the geometry, and get something that no Cobra deserves.

I've re-designed my suspension and re-building it to prove this....... stick around.

Cheers,
-Neil.

Cobra Dude,
You keep giving me all these good tips and I may have to adopt you. Thanks, I've got a full holiday weekend lined up with Cobra projects.
CMC's rule!

Y'know, I'd actually consider being adopted, but only as a rapid solution to a few "obstacles". So you'd have to meet some criteria -- are you worth over a billion dollars; and do you own a strip club or are otherwise affiliated with any source of fine single women?

Cheers,
-Neil.

Darn, I missed out on all three criteria. I'm almost broke since I bought my Cobra, they've run me out of all the clubs and all four of my single daughters are now married. And to add insult to injury, all five of their children are boys. I'm afraid my only hope is that you'll still be generous with your suggestions on improving my CMC.
