OK, Houston,We have No Ignition
Looks like everyone must be asleep in Houston area! Have not seen any postings from anyone! Is everyone out driving their Cobras, or is the threat of evening thundershowers keeping all the Cobras in the garage? After drying my car out twice, I have learned to carry a good tarp with me and watch the sky closely, but it doesn't like to stay in the garage much. I met some new Cobra folks locally. Maybe we can hook up for next meeting. Later, David.

My ignition is on!
Thanks David you woke me up. This my first time to respond. I've had my CMC for two months and I'm still trying to get it where I want it. Come on down to League City sometime on a Friday evening. There is always 75-100 cars out in the park on Main Street. Always several Cobras there to make it worth while. Keep those CMC's blazing

kountzcobra I had to get my friend back to the airport. I have an old friend in Kountz, Gary Capo, do you know him? Went to high school in Beaumont with him class 63. Have you lived in Kountz long? I've had my cobra for about 2 years. How long did you tell me you've had yours? I think you told me you built it . Bob

Bob, I lived in Beaumont 30 years and Kountze about 15. Have been working on my car 6.5 years only been driving it 6 weeks.

You guys have been reading too many Bat Man comics lately.

Hey Cobra Dude,
|
Sorry about the short message, bad finger co-ordination. A Question, I bought a finished car and would like to adjust the door fit. Any suggestions?
Popeye |
Well, since you have bad finger coordination, I'd recommend you have someone else adjust the door. :3DSMILE:  :D **)
Seriously though, I'm not sure. Depends on what specifically is not correct. If you have all the regular CMC pieces, take a look at how the hinges are put on. You have rotational adjustability on the roll axis, the pitch axis, and the yaw axis, and have linear adjustability fore-aft and a bit left-right. No up/down linear adjustability built in, but you can re-drill the hinges for that. The tricky part is that the doors are very heavy since they have steel beams going thru them (probably the safest Cobra I've seen from this area), but when you adjust the doors, and let them go, the weight will pull them down a bit. Trial and error solves this. So how about some info on your CMC -- what year, engine, suspension, etc? Cheers, -Neil. |
