Texas 289 - Rain?!!

Are there any special plans if it rains? I know the Mustangs can tough it out, but my little Cobra doesn't like to get wet (and neither do I *sigh*).

I presume I can still swing by and get my $250 wind breaker?

Gary Morris 10-16-2002 11:24 AM

This is probably not what you want to hear...BUT we go rain or shine and you MUST drive to get the jacket. Matt and I don't even have tops on our Cobras and we are allready plannig to get wet!

Rain and Cold Weather

Who's rule is that? Cause I've got to have to talk with them. :JEKYLHYDE

Do I have any other options? I've already paid and that Jackets have been ordered in the sizes I requested?

BT SNAKE 10-16-2002 11:55 AM

Mark,
That's some moniker you got there. Are
you really a Fubar? :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Hersh:)

Gary Morris 10-16-2002 11:55 AM

Read your registration....Rain Or Shine....and no refunds. It's a standard rule at just about any event....Mid America...SAAC...and all the others I know of. I think the jackets are going to be passed out at the Ranch. This whole event was planned around DRIVING your car. It was set up that way to keep people from deciding at the last minute that rain or other factors that they just did not want to drive their car and wind up trying to take their grocery getter.........so it was decided that in order to receive your jacket you must drive your car as no other cars will be allowed at the ranch other than the cars transporting the volunteers. It would not be fair otherwise to ALL of the people comming from all over the United States that have comitted to driving their car.

Gary

Gary kind of puts it a little Harsh :)

He is correct though..you must drive to the ranch to get the jackets...Just plan on driving the car...if Hill Bullock can do a trip to Austin in the rain so can we :) Its going to suck if it is raining but its not calling for it outside of Dallas and I personally think the weather men are idiots and we won't get wet.

See you at the starting line. The reason for the no refunds is that SCAT had to commit to food and trophies so they get no money back.

Before we get upset and worry lets see what tomorrow brings.

Matt

427Aggie 10-16-2002 02:31 PM

A perfect example...I was just looking at weather.com and now they are saying no rain Friday (it was suppost to rain all day) and 90% saturday where it was only suppost to be scattered showers in the morning..

Idiots don't know what they are talking about.

See you Saturday.

It's OK, everything will work itself out!!

Boys,
Lets's not get our panties in a wad just yet! It will work itself out, and I have been wet for the past three years at the SCAT event, and I just assumed it was a part of the normal course of events.
Mary & I will be at the hotel on Saturday morning, rain or shine, and maybe a few minutes late, but WE WILL BE THERE!!
I know the drill, I read the form, and this makes the 300 mile drive to Austin in the rain in 2001 look like childs play.
Don't let a "chance" of something spoil a truly "once in a lifetime " event for you!!
John Russell
ps. I might just throw in my "water wings" for luck

fubar 10-16-2002 04:13 PM

jrussell 10-16-2002 04:44 PM

35 will do it!

Mark,
That's the spirit!! Actually, when you get over about 35mph, the rain will blow over the cockpit, so it's the stopping that will get 'ya!
This is the thing that memories are made of.
I look forward to seeing you either Friday night or Saturday morning.
John R.
