Default Original Cobra in my town???

ok...I live out in the middle of nowhere(kinda), in the Texas Hill Country. I'm looking around the internet, and WOW!

Where I work, in a little town called Comfort, Texas..there seems to be a collector, with some REALLY nice cars for sale.

www.comfortcarconnection.com

I'm going over there to look today:

1966 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra with Factory Dry Sump. V.I.N. CSX 3020
1 of 22 Competition Roadsters and reportedly only one of three that received a Dry System. The 427 Cobra competition car was going to be Carroll Shelby’s secret weapon for 1965. Stuffing a 427 Ford NASCAR engine into a Cobra chassis appeared to be the solution for the additional horsepower needed to beat Ferrari. The 427 Cobra was as powerful an automotive statement as a manufacturer could make, Shelby felt no need to get cute with a clever name for the racing version. It was called the “competition model,” “competition version” or simply referred to as the “427 Cobra Competition”. 3020 has received awards for “Best Cobra” at two Shelby American Automobile Club meets, Listed in the Shelby American World Registry-1997, and was featured on TNN “My Classic Car Video Magazine.

...bring your checkbook...CSX3020 is a very good specimen (dry-sumped Comp car. with good history)

certainly looks like a 600k plus car.

Hi Blake,

I believe that car was recently on E-Bay for sale.

A similar car CSX3016 was on E-bay for a $550k starting bid last month.

There seems to some action in people selling their expensive toys and trying to get 1989 style dollars for them but, the buying community does not seem to want to give up the dollars.

Sign of the times
