Steve R,
All the information about the Spring event and the schedule is available at this thread on the Texas Cobra Club forum.......check it out...........glad to have you coming! http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=37764 Dee Walters/Cammer |
Plan on Fri-Sat!
Steve,
Plan on Friday and Saturday nights, but plan on arriving as early as possible Friday, and a late departure on Sunday. This is the recipe for a good weekend in Austin, so make sure you drag along a bunch of the other Houston Cobras. John Russell |
Hey about what time is everyone from Dallas planning on leaving to Austin.
We can't leave until about noon. Kids and school and missing days kinda thing. Also I found a new Cobra (in my own neighborhood) and I think he is going to come down to Austin as well. It is a SPF out of So-Cal. Yellow with white strip. I don't recall if we have a yellow car. Well we do now. He will be at our First Saturday gathering in the Dallas group to get more details. Nice Guy! Ferrari Killer Steve Parks |
Oh no! Steve found one that's not Blue...I guess I have to count that one.:3DSMILE:
|
Yep, That's right Dennis. We are smelling VICTORY!
Ferrari Killer Steve Parks |
Steve.....we will be halfway to Austin by noon!!
Gary |
Well be almost there!
Steve,
I would imagine we will kick it off around 9:00 am, 9:30 at the latest. The object is to beat the Austin traffic when you drive the cars there. Just come on down when you can & we'll be waiting. John R. |
If you all meet in Duncanville- Ceder Hill at 10:00 like you have the past two years, I will be ok. I left about an hour after everyone else did last year and I had to wait for everyone in Hillsborough (sp) for about 20-30 mins, So I think if I leave at 12:00 I will get to Hillsb... about the same time as everyone else. We should get to the 35E & 35W meeting, Because I live very close to 35W it only takes me about 10-15 mins to get through Fort Worth and on my way. Hopefully, that won't be too bad for me. We will see.

Dennis, and all who have worked so hard on this event. Great job. We will be there, and we will bring some goodies to donate. We donate, as we have in the past, because we are Charter members of this great club, and a part of the TCC famly.
After reading through all the posts to find out the latest agenda etc., I understand the Vendor argument that was discussed. What I latched on to was from someone that pointed out about pumping up the interest and building up membership. This after just e-mailing Dick about his inquiry into one of my customers he needed some info on. My brain clicked and I figured I would do a mailing to all the inquires that I have had from the Austin area to kick start some interest. S-o-o-o-o, Please review the below letter and give me your blessing or tell me to save my postage. It's your call Dennis. Thanks, Doug Reed Performance Motorsports You are receiving this because you have expressed an interest in our Superformance Replicas in the past. We will be attending the Annual Texas Cobra Club event in Austin. There should be over 70 cars in attendance of all makes. This is a chance for you to view them and talk to the owners about their experience. You may be interested in building another brand of car….take a moment and talk to the builder. Even if you are not ready to make that move to ownership just yet, this may help you greatly in your quest for your dream car. As per the organizers “prospective owners are welcome at the Origin building and to hang out the whole weekend (hotel, tailgate party, Gruene, etc) The address of the Origin Building is: Origin Systems Inc 918 W Courtyard Dr Austin, TX 78730 The Origin Systems Garage is just east, before the Rust colored suspension bridge over Town Lake on Hwy 360 aka Capital of Texas Freeway. We will be on the top level of this parking Garage Saturday morning from 9AM until around 11 AM, before we do our drive out to Gristmill in Gruen for lunch. We are to arrive, around 4 PM, back at the Austin Marriott North, 2600 La Frontera Blvd., 512-733-6767, and a tailgate party starting around 7 PM in the Hotel parking lot. Our focus is not to sell cars on this trip, we are Charter members of the TTC and they are our family. We want mainly to promote this Club and the fun enjoyed by ownership of any make of AC replica. If I can be of any further help feel free to give me a call on my mobile # 504-388-1007 Doug Reed, owner Reed Performance Motorsports |
All Right!
Doug; It's always a pleasure to have you attend our yearly spring meet. It would not be the same without you. Looking forward to seeing you at the tailgate party and the Devil's Backbone cruise to Gruene.

Doug that is a great idea! The letter is perfect!
I look forward to seeing you in austin and we will try to keep Tom from trying to undress you....you know how he is:3DSMILE: He did seem to like that cobra shirt:eek: |
Great idea Doug. We look forward to seeing you there. The TCC always enjoys the Cajun influence!
See you in a few weeks. Scott, SPF#1230 |
Doug, It looks perfect...MAIL THEM!!
Doug,
This looks wonderful!! I will handle rounding up the straglers from the DFW area, and I really think we are going to be in the 80-90 car range.......maybe more. John R |
Thanks guys. I'll be there. I told my daughter to hold off her delivery until this is over. She lives up my Lake Conroe, so maybe she can have the baby on Monday the 24th. That would work fine.
Jeez, I thought married life would cool Tom off, so that's just a front for him. He's still really from the "Dark Side" with his sexuality. I told him I don't play that S-it. He still kept grabbing my nee..............we--NEE. Hope he hasn't lost weight, I might have to give up my SNAKE shirt if he can actually wear it all day without poping the buttons. We are coming with at least two cars. Maybe three. Has someone talked to Steve Newmark with Lonestar? I just called him, he said he knew about it and that some of his guys were coming? See ya'll in Austin, Doug |
Doug; Please register on the following thread:
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=37625 Also we need the Lonestar guys to register as well. |
I'm trying to get the guy out here in comfort to bring his 427 Compettition Car.....
still trying... blake |
Question?
For those of us that have been in chase cars in the past we have had some problems. Most are not capable of keeping up with the cobras and get left behind, thus the maps. Right? We can very easily tell the cobras are part of the group, however we can not tell the chase cars are part of the group or just some one else just trying to get a closer look. So Mrs. America (my wife) came up with an idea, so here it is if you all agree. All the chase cars should tie a 3' red white and blue streamer ribbon around the antenna. Like a 1/2" wide christmas ribbon. So all the chase cars can easily see them and stay together as well. We will have the ribbons on ours and will bring some extra, but of coarse we have no way of knowing how many are needed. What do you guys think? It would sure help us identify chase cars if we do not know each other. We purchased three rolls, one each red white and blue & it cost us @ $1.95 for all, and there is enough for ten sets. If everyone agrees we could pick up three more rolls and hand them out at the sign in table. So we could make 20 sets for 20 chase cars. I have no idea how many chase cars we normally have, is 20 enough & do you like the idea? Just a thought Ferrari Killer Steve Parks |
We could always hand paint stripes on the chase vehicles during Friday night's festivities! On second thought, ribbons would be good.
