Default Austin event

Guys today was awsome. We had 70 Cobras in one location. One car was driven in all the way from CA. We had a great drive through the Texas hill country. The weather was great. Sunny and 70 degrees. I will post some pictures tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone that came out and made this a great event.

James

I heard 73 Cobras. Awesome event indeed! It just keeps getting better every year!

So I never got the time to mount the camera in the nose of my Cobra. Sp who got good video coverage?

Cheers,
-Neil.

What a perfect day. Absolutely gorgeous weather (Tom comes through again ) and great company, as usual. 70+ Cobras winding through the Hill Country is a sure cure for whatever ails you, unless it's Cobra Fever.

Thanks to everyone who put their time (and money) into organizing this year's meet. As it has every year, it keeps growing and getting better.

I have about 40 minutes of video that you guys are welcome to if you are planning on putting something together. Some of it was shot by my 12-year-old nephew so parts are a bit shaky, but it has some good in-car footage and some nice views of all the cars lined up for the group shot--

Bob

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday...looks like it turned out to be "the event" of the year. Uncle Sam has me on a really short string and looks my service could be used in other parts of the world shortly.

I did get my new fuel cell and Autometer 427 gauges installed and took it out for a spin after a good wash and wax session.

Can't wait to see photos from the gathering and maybe I will get to do an event this fall (after returning from overseas) or next year's event.

Bob,

Yes please, I'd like to make an event video from lots of different bits and pieces from as many sources as possible. Hang on to it until I identify all the sources, and I'll get back to you as to how I can get it from you.

Thanks,
-Neil.

This was a "top shelf" event!!!! Everything was great. Once again the weather, the cruise the food and the PEOPLE were perfect!!!!

Those that didn't make it really did miss a great time.

Thanks the planners and the participants, you made it great.

A couple people asked me who won as far as the Cobra count. John R answered that question for me better than anyone else...The Club won because we all showed up!

Thanks again and Congrats to our new president Ryan Logan!

There are aprox 5 cars that are not in this picture (including a sweet gt-40) as they showed up after I took this picture.

Cool Great Event!!!

We just walked in. Exhausted but smiling broadly.

It was our first year and it was everything everyone said it would be and more. It was great to finally get to meet and see the folks and cars from the rest of the state. Everyone is so friendly. I'm sure those folks from out of state (California!) are duly impressed with Texas hospitality.

The accommodations were great and the cruise was perfect. Great job Tom on the weather!

Certainly glad we were able to make it and we won't be missing any after this.

Thank you to everyone who worked on planning this, you did outstanding.

Mrs. 66 Snake.

I have video of everyone leaving the Origin parking garage and
video of half the people leaving the hotel. Don't ask what happened to the other half. Whoever puts a compilation together
contact me and I will turn over the goods.

Sorry to have missed this one. Looking forward to the pictures!

Worked what seemed like around the clock to get Ray Nelsons 351W rebuilt and upgraded, do some clutch work and install an oil cooler, but couldn't pull it off in time. His SMC does run beautifully now, though...it was worth the time and effort to help a friend. Now to spend a little time on mine!

Look forward to seeing you all on the 1st.

Cool Words can't say...............

enough about what a great week-end we had! Many thanks to all those who planned the event and worked so hard to make everything turn out so well! We had a wet Friday but beautiful Saturday weather. That's four years in a row that we have had great weather for the Saturday event! We all must be living right. I'm already excited about the 2004 event!

Recomendation for next year

Change:

NOTHING

This was a very good gathering for all who braved the Friday rain, and trusted Tom's annual ability to something right. We had alot af fun and met some people that we only know by these threads.

Tony, I was glad to see you brought your son. After all this is a family thing as much as anything. We all braved the rain on Friday night at the tailgate party, Thanks Don Barns for the power and Doug Reed for the Jumbalia (sp). It is nice to be a part of something this grand.

Many thanks to James and Jeanie Baldwin for letting My wife and I ride with you two since we were Cobra-less this year.

Can't wait till next year

Hey thanks ,that whats its abought good people and great fun !
Wyatt got to play with Kountzes kids and had a great time I asked for you but didnt get to meet you yet .Cobra Dude called me and had to ride back to Florida so he let us drive the Cobra back to the Shop .So Wyatt had his first long Ride ! His response was that was a great ride DAD it was scary to have him in a car like that but I could not help it I know he realy wanted it .Meet up with a Blue Cobra with White strips in Austin on the way back on 183s he had his little one with him as well .You could not even see Wyatts head over the door but he was waving Peace obove the door for people to see .Thanks to the people that remebered my nephew David Starks and talked to me .I really would have like to meet 392 Cobra as well . That Tom is something else I think If I could get him over to the Shop I could get him to sniff Some paint with me . I could not ever belive I would live a life so great Thank you Lord

Ok. If this worked, it is a couple more pix. Didn't want to overwhelm the dialup users.
Really enjoyed seeing the "fleet" at the Origin garage. Went back home and straight back to work on my FFR.

Clois, You two are a part of the Texas Cobra Club, and WELCOME.

Funny you should say that because there was a tongue and check movement for the eastern half of the state to succeed from the State of Oklahoma a few years ago. We could have became part of Texas or perhaps our own Island.

Thanks everyone we had a blast.
