Cobra Classes @ Texas Motor Speedway

OK Cobra Guys & Ladies, Want to be a better Cobra driver ?? I have arranged special Cobra club pricing for for all car groups that can bring 10 cars from their club. The price is $150 for the day including lunch, regular summer price is $185 . The day will included a classroom session for novice drivers and anyone that would like a little vehicle dynamics review, then four 30 minutes sessions. That's right two hours at speed on the high banks of TMS. There will be three run groups, one for everyone, novice, intermediate, and advanced. The Panoz Racing School Instructors will be giving instruction before the first session and after each session all day long. If you have never done a "Track Day" @ TMS here's your chance. You will get great instruction and have a safe enviroment to let your beast run. The date is Friday July 25 at Texas Motor Speedway. Drop me a note at don@panoztx.com for the entire "Track Days" info document. OK Cobra guys, I see all the post about horsepower, what about putting it to the ground or should I say to the track. Seriously guys, there is no better and safer place to learn the limits of you and your car. If you need video equipment for you adventure let me know, we have several camera mounts that you can borrow. Later, db

:) :) :) :)

I am looking for a car to buy in time!!!

kingair 07-07-2003 09:05 AM

James, DUH!!! Look at my ad on cobra country or exoticcarworld.com. You know the drill. I need to move so I can make room for the Daytona!

keithw 07-07-2003 09:26 AM

DADNABIT DON, we set up track days at No Problem Raceway on July 23 and 24 and you come up with a neat event like this on the 25th?

We'd definately come if not for that. Oh well, next time.

Keith

Cobra #42 07-07-2003 12:03 PM

Keith, Come on up, you will be ready for TMS after two days down in the bayou. Have fun, and be safe. db

snakeeyes 07-08-2003 08:01 AM

Don, what are the requirements, if any, as far as safety equipment, i.e., roll bars, etc.?

Thanks!

Bob

Cobra #42 07-08-2003 12:03 PM

You will have to wear a helmet, if you don't have one, I can loan you one. Firesuit not required but nice to wear, we have for rent, $10.00 pays for sending to dry cleaner. There is no rollbar height limitations, and a five point harness would be helpful. Need good tires and brake pads in good shape. I have an email document I will send to you after I finish this post which will answer alot of questions. Thanks, db 817-430-2102

John Russell

ps. Now, we need Tom, Gary, Matt, Jim, David T, Greg, Fred etc, etc!!!    And James to buy Greg's Unique :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

Cobra #42 07-08-2003 01:28 PM

Ok guys, what do I have to do to get you to the track, I have lowered the price and I am buying your lunch.

I know what !!!!! I'll buy you a can of wax and a two dollar trophy........... will that get you moving ??? LOL

Clois Harlan 07-08-2003 02:38 PM

Don,

I would drive down for this one but my daugheter is getting married Friday night, I even had to cancel No Problem because of her. I think she is beginning to expect too much from a dad.

I hope you get some dates another time.

Clois

392cobra 07-08-2003 03:33 PM

Don,
Could you make that a three dollar trophy ?%/

$150 for two hour total track time is a steal. Throw in some classroom and Panoz instructors to help hone the driving skills is a real bonus.
You can be sure they won't let you get in over your skill level.
They don't want anyone to get hurt or damage their Cobras any more than you do.

Sorry I'll miss this Don.

As I already told you,my son & I are heading to the beach to try and relax after the stress of the car shows.

Cobra #42 07-08-2003 05:10 PM

Fred, You can stay at the track and I'll go to the beach, have fun, db

What an opportunity!!

I am trying to reschedule some work travel plans and to quote Mr. Russell, "weasel" my way out of some other work commitments to make the day. I will post my status by the end of the week.

Scott Mc. 07-09-2003 12:59 PM

Man I am sick about this one....I can not get from SA to there and back given my commitments that weekend.

Ever considered doing this in College Station (at the track there)?

Thanks very much for including us on this one Don. I really want to attend one sometime soon!!!

gsharapa 07-09-2003 09:19 PM

Well I'll be out to watch and shoot some video as although I have a brand new SPF in my garage, kind of hard to do track event without a motor......
Hey Don, we could put your 427 in for the day.....only kidding!

CowtownCobra 07-10-2003 06:50 AM

I also plan to be there just as an observer, since my car is not finished yet. Talked to Don, he's fine with that.

Going for a ride in a Panoz Saturday. :D

Cobra #42 07-10-2003 09:44 AM

Gary, Come out and shoot some video, if any of you Cobra - less guys would like to come out and be an observer, you are welcome. Sit in on the vehicle dynamics class.

Matt is your car running?? Matt we have sprayed the entire track for bugs..... so..... you will not get any bug juice on your car. I can't think of any other reason for you not to attend.

jrussell 07-10-2003 11:43 AM

Matt, I think Don wants your attendance!

Matt......Wow!!
Geez, I didn't think ANYONE got a "special invitation" to attend this little run in the sun, but............................
Man, if it were ME, I sure would feel a strong obligation to show up, but, oh yeah, I AM going to be there anyway.
Come on Matt, we need an ERA to come out & play, so what say you?
Don't let Don down.
Your friend & conspirator,
John R. :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

TMS Questions

Don, Can you bring a passenger along for $150 track charge? If Ray Russell is up to it, I might come up to Hurst and ride with Ray. Can we rent helmets? Any additional costs or restrictions?
