Default Houston 5, Austin 4 on Austin turff

Well gang if you didn't know, the Austin group had their meet today....Good thing the Houston guys showed up!

5 Houston cars left the meeting spot at 8 am on a very brisk Saturday, to surprise the Austin crew at the Austin meet in Bastrop which for those of you that don't know is aprox. 20 miles from Austin. David S, left Kountze Texas at 5 am just to make it to the Houston take off point. Our rag tag bunch drives 130+ miles to get to the Austin meet.

We get there a tad early, parked and waited for the onslaught of Cobras that we were sure to see....We got to see 4

What happened to the Austin Guys???? You let us come there and outnumber you at your own meet? Did I mention your meet was 20 miles from Austin and we drove from Houston?

I thought Dee, Ed, Tony, Uncle Joe and their respective pretty ladies were all going to cry but it was good that we Houstonites showed up to help them turn that frown, upside down...as you can see in this picture....

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...t=1&thecat=500

The temp was just right, Uncle Joe took us on a cruise and let us play in his game room and fed us milk and cookies...or was that beer....I forget.

Anyway the day was awesome and I have to thank the Austin crew that showed up for their great hospitality and a really fun day!!!

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...t=1&thecat=500

But I still have to ask, Where were the rest of you Austin folk?!??!? You just let us come into a meeting in your own back yard and out number you?!??!!? For Shame!!!!!!

Lucy, you got some spla'in to do......

Sure enjoyed the little ride today! Good company as always, and have you ever seen such a good looking bunch of people in your life? Thanks for the great hospitality. As for the Austinites that didn't show?.............Never mind!

According to my trip meter, I drove 590.7 miles today. Does anyone know where I could buy a new pair of butt cheeks? Mine are toast!

Default Sorry I missed it...

I made the road about 8:30 and hit the I-10 on ramp and my car wouldn't run for sh*t! I hate carburetors...especially fancy ones...dammit! As long as I have my foot in it (and I mean IN IT), it runs great..but anywhere in between and it's a sputtering piece of crap! Guess that means my foot better be in it....! Anyway, I took that as a sign that I best stay put and maybe get this thing figured out. I will never buy a used carburetor again!!!! Glad you guys had fun... <- Me, green with envy!

Default Spirit

Dennis,

I applaud the Houstinites' spirit! I had intended to be there, but my Cobra is in the middle of a major brake system overhaul (new Master Cylinder, adj prop valve, new lines, etc), so it was unable to get out. Add the work being done to the daily driver, and I was a bit stranded this weekend.

But I was there in spirit, and that counts for a lot, so let's make it 5-5!

Stuck -- what's all this carburetor talk?! It's the 21st century ... check out a cool new invention call Fuel Injectors!

Cheers,
-Neil.

The cruise was 313 miles and a great day. We are looking forward to the next one. As soon as I fix the leaking rear end seal. The Blue Devil is not hurt just wounded a bit. Thanks to all for a great way to spend a day

Jim, glad to see you posting on the forum. Tell others there is no pain involved, just a few minutes of your time. Glad y'all could join us yesterday.

(Rear may quit leaking if the Bowtie is replaced!)

F.I. costs money...which I don't have! My funds are currently tied up in diapers and other such baby needs as well as a stay at home mom. I am lucky to still have a cobra...see you guys next time.

Ryan, don't listen to Neil. Real men have carbs on their toys!

BTW Ryan, let mom stay at home. It's worth it. JMHO!

Sorry guys, I had a 2:30 wedding that I "had" to go to. I would much rather be out with you guys in my cobra rather than in a suit sitting there bored to death....

Since I have the November meet I obviously will be there....

Tony, I drove all that way to see the Austin Wives. The rest of you, I just put up with! I had a good time!

Would Nicki want to go for a ride next weekend?

Sorry I missed the event. I had to go to Chicago on Friday and returned on Sunday afternoon. Looks like there were some great cars there.

Red face Wake Up Austin!

It's getting bad when Houston has to supplement our monthly meet. It was a surprise to see our fellow TCC members from Houston parked in the restaurant parking lot. You made our day Houston!

Joe and Pat, thanks for hosting the meet at your home. You have a great place for a Cobra meet. We all had a great time.

hey ryan
sounds like you have a stuck float. had the same problem with mine after the engine rebuild and had to replace the needle and seat. you can probably screw it in and out and it may clear. or take a big hammer!
