Jay,

Thank you for the second opinion. I stand corrected. I wish this thing could be settled without lawyers though...

jayscobras 10-07-2003 06:14 PM

ACCEPTED

IT COULD HAVE BEEN FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HERE. BUT IF IT HAD BEEN ME, I WOULD HAVE GONE FOR FAR MORE. BUT THAT'S JUST ME:mad:

I KNOW TODD AND HAVE FOR SEVERAL YEARS. LIKE MOST POLICEMEN HE IS SLOW TO ANGER AND ONCE HE DOES GET ANGERED .... STAND BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ALSO KNOW MOST OF THE PARTIES IN THIS THING.....IT IS NOT BEING HANDLED WELL:CRY:

I HAVE (UNKNOWN) WATCHED TODD BUILD HIS CAR BEHIND RONNIE CASH'S SHOP FOR A LONG TIME. TODD HAS BEEN TO MY HOME FOR THE GT40 FIRING PARTY. IF HE SAYS SOMETHING I HAVE LEARNED TO TAKE IT ON FAITH.

IF YOU CAN'T BELIEVE A COP...WHO CAN YOU BELIEVE????

LET'S LET THIS THREAD DIE UNTTIL SOMETHING NEW COMES UP AND ANOTHER COBRA ENTHUSIAST NEEDS HELP;)

My my my,,,,,,,, if the facts as reported here are true this sounds like a fraud case. Perhaps Lone Star was "taken in" as well? At any rate it would seem there is way more going on here than just the price of the engine. In Hawaii, someone would be looking at "triple damages".........

What a sad sad day this is for me. I have sent an email of apology to Todd, and now its crow for dinner...

Excaliber 10-07-2003 07:43 PM

Whats for dinner??

Dave,,,,,we've all been there at some point.

,,,,,,I hate crow, but I've had to eat it.

ernie

jayscobras 10-07-2003 09:10 PM

LIKE WE SIAD FROM THE START

IT IS NOT THE CARS....BUT THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE THIS SITE AND OUR CLUB SO GREAT.

ONCE AGAIN THAT HAS BEEN PROVED:)

BY THE WAY ERNIE, CROW IS BETTER THAN SH#T IF YOU HAVE TO EAT IT. THE BEST PART OF THE MEAL IS HUMBLE PIE FOR DESERT.

AFTER THE INTITIAL TASTE IS GONE...IT IS VERY SWEET.

Hey,
Did anyone hear I am getting a new motor?;)

OK, all is well that ends well.

Todd

p.s. Thanks Jay.

jkbedell 10-08-2003 03:32 PM

Todd,
Your last past was a little ambiguous. Does that mean Lone Star gave in and is getting you a new motor? A refund? Or are you still referring the the Keith Craft purchase?

James Baldwin 10-08-2003 03:59 PM

I think he was just joking.. going back to the way this thread got started. :)

todd 10-08-2003 09:09 PM

sorry

yes it was a joke:LOL:

Todd

jkbedell 10-09-2003 12:30 PM

Lone Star has had a great reputation...especially for builders in the Texas area. I can't believe they would destroy their reputation over a motor. My guess is that they bought the motor from a second rate builder who represented the motor as new to them. When the deal went South their builder did not stand behind it and Lone Star decided to cut their loses and not fix the issue. If they wanted to take of their customer, they could do so in many ways.

The difference between a great company and a bad one is what happens when everything goes WRONG! Everyone is easy to deal with when a deal goes smooth.

The Cobra community has many Quality choices when buying a car. Their has been quite a bit of shake out in this industry in the past and I expect more fall out in the future. Will Lone Star survive?

Todd & Lonestar

Being concerned about the conflict between Todd and Lonestar I called Steve to see what I could learn about it.And to see if there was a way to resolve this problem.

Steve is offering two options.

1. Bring the engine back in tact and he will supply you another
428" from a different engine shop.It is presently in one of their
demos and available to test drive.

2. If you want your same engine Steve will have it restored and
machined with whatever parts are needed to make it right.

Seems fair to me.

What do you think ??

No thanks. I want a refund.

Todd

Excaliber 10-11-2003 01:05 AM

A rebuild or a replacement sounds fair to me, the "Judge" may see it the same way? Just a thought.......

Ernie

Also Todd 10-11-2003 01:11 AM

Nope, they already said no and to sue them. seems funny they changed their minds. I have already purchased a new motor. I am not interested in a new motor from them. I do not think I can trust anything from them.

Excaliber...go to bed it is very late!!!!

Todd

Excaliber 10-11-2003 01:37 AM

Ha ha,,,hey it's only 9:40 pm here! I had to work tonight so I'm just getting around to CC.

As I now recall the fact that you DID all ready purchase a motor based on their initial statement I'd have to say your correct in asking for a refund.

Bummer it turned it ugly for all concerned.

Well, the real negative for me was that I was insulted on this board when people did not even know what they where talking about. I had already gone the route of talking to Steve and people were angry at me for contacting a Lawyer. Oh well it is done and over with. I will not be contacting LS for anything.

Anyway it is 3 am here. I am working an overtime job (to pay for the new motor). I get off at 5 a.m. and going to get some rest.

Have a good night out there in Hawaii

Todd
