Talking Great Houston Meet

The Houston group had a great meet today! It was a bit overcast and we moved the meeting weekend to work with those of us that are cruising to Corpus next weekend so I'm sure that held our car count down a bit but we had 10 Cobra's and about 25 people show up for the meet!!!! (all from the Houston area I might add)

I wasn't sure my car was going to make it to the meet do to some upgrades I was making. I had car parts from one side of the garage to the other Friday when I went to work. My brother was visiting from out of state and I had not realized that during the 3+ years I have had the car, he had never been for a ride. That little fact kicked my mind into over drive and I stayed up till 3 am getting it back together so he could make the Cruise down to the meet with me! He kept telling me to go to bed and we could just take the daily down and he would ride another time, but I was determined to get him to the meet in my Cobra! Got up at 7 to take the car out for a little shake down cruise and it was ready to roll. All I can say is the extra effort was worth it. He had the biggest grin on his face as we cruised down the hiway toward the meet! Once at the meet he had a great time talking to everyone and checking out the cars. Thanks to everyone that showed up for making him feel welcome and right at home!!

Sort of expected an ambush from the Austin Club given that antics of the Houston group last month. Dallas, Austin and San Antonio, you guys are always welcome so COME ON OVER!!!

See you guys in Corpus!

Here are a couple pictures from the meet.

I second that Dennis. Sherri and I had a great time. It was good to see everyone and meet some new members. Couldn't wait to get home and work on the car, great motivator.

Thanks for a fun time,
Mark and Sherri

Great meet! Enjoyed seeing everyone and meeting some new folks too. Seems like every month a few new folks show up. Hope the trend continues.

I had fully intended on making to this meeting with my car...but NO it seems that you have to have both body sections on before you can drive it on the street!

I will finally have it ready in time for the December event.

All that is left is to wire up the nose section, put it on the chassis and get it inspected and registered.

Then LOOK OUT!

Sorry that I missed the gathering, but I was out of town. I plan on making the November meet if and yes, kountzcobra, I will bring the wife

BTW, where is the next meet?

Very busy trying to get all of the details on the Unique worked out with the Weavers and the painter. They are all great people!

I do need some help with the side pipes though. They will come unfinished (bare metal) and I would like to chrome them. Does anyone know of any chrome platers in the Houston area? Or other options?
