Question Austin - body shop needed

My car was dinged up a bit during transit to my home, and I now need to have the paint touched up. Can anyone in the Round Rock/Austin area point me in the direction of a good place to take it? The paint has pearl in it, which I hear is a major pain to match up. I have some of the original paint, so hopefully the paint should match exactly, but I'm worried about how it will look if they paint over the existing paint instead of sanding down the whole area that will receive paint. Maybe they'll have to sand and paint the whole fender?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Darren

Darren, I used Fast Paint and Body shop 512-670-1711 (close to Wells Branch and I35) Ask for Ricky. He painted my FFR and I am very pleased. He did some work on my Benz and it blended perfectly. You can't tell where he blended it in. With a FFR Cobra there are no panel break points so it will have to be blended into your existing paint. His shop is small and he is reasonably priced.

The problem with pearl as I understand it is that you can't stop painting it or the colors look different...even from the same gun. You need to find a really good shop for this as they might have to blend alot further in than you think to make it look right.

So who dinged the car? Did you have someone transport it?

I had Stewart Transport ship it to me. You can read about my trials and tribulations on this link.

I've heard the same things about pearl. Apparently, if you paint a second coat over an existing coat of pearl it looks darker and is easy to tell the difference. I'm really afraid this is going to suck. I was generally happy with Stewart Transport, so I don't have any desire to stick it to them by having them pay to repaint the whole car or anything like that. But, I need it to look like it did when it left the seller's house. So, if anybody has used a shop that is very familiar with painting pearl, please let me know.

Class of 94 here. I would suggest that you get quotes and make sure if they say you need to spray the whole car then you get it in writing so you can show stewart that you won't take a car that has different colors on it. Sorry if you were in Dallas I would have some please to recommend.

The guy that did my car went to Austin to open/run a Shop in Austin. The Shop is Apollo and it's right on 35.

I know it's a chain and EVERYONE told me not to take my car there but they did an awesome job on my car and they have painted a friend of mine's Cobra and his Vette.

He's worth droping by to check
