Kristen,
Not having my Cobra here to polish and get ready for Colleen's car show,I had some free time to think about you getting a trophy.I would bet you have missed getting a trophy in the past by just a vote or two.

I came up with some sure fire ideas to get a lot of extra votes. You could be looking at Best Of Show.

1. Post a sign on your windshield with the name I suggested for your Cobra.I know you officially declared it the worst suggestion but that's all right.

2. Break out that infamous pink thong of yours and wear it to the show.

3. Spent extra time polishing at the show.

4. Ask for help with your suntan lotion.

If I come up with some more ideas for you I'll be sure and post them.

If I can be of anymore help, just ask. :3DSMILE:

I knew I shouldn't have painted the pipes. Now I have to go and vote for someone in a pink thong driving my poor Pepe'. Pepe' can win without all the flash and glitter. Just give him a chance. you want a trophy. How about I give you a special one from the Shelby Texas Nationals.

oh, Fred.....

I should NEVER be drinking/eating when reading one of your posts! Ok.
#1. Distinct possibility, but unlikely.
#2. Thanks for the compliment, but believe me, you don't REALLY want to see me wearing a pink thong. Maybe 20 years or 20 pounds ago. Maybe. I'll work on the 20#. Can't do nuthin bout the 20 years....
#3. Ask the guys at Tulsa about me polishing at the show. I was polishing during the "margarita parking lot party" and I got grief for it!
#4. Another good tip, and certainly a possibility. (Only by approved lotion appliers- submit application by private message ;) )

always entertaining, Fred, always entertaining!!!:3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:
seeya Sunday!!

Boy, y'all get rowdy in here when I'm not looking.

Pink thongs? I thought the ricer crowd was going to be the ones I had to watch out for. ;)

We'll make sure we can save you a spot. There's like 300 parking spaces, so there's plenty of room to spread out.

Now do y'all want street side parking or something closer to the grass and trees? I know the gal running this thing so I think I can manuever some prime location. Although I was over there earlier and it's all good.

Thank y'all sooo much!!

Well, it's 7:20 Sunday night. I've just finished counting the $ from the car show. What a fun job! We raised just over $2000 for the agency.

We ended up with 87 cars, and oodles of spectators. Plus a good showing from our local TCC. John Ross, Randy Riley, The Smith's, Kristen, Thomas, The Morrises (thank you for the posters!) and Cory Hess. Plus another silver car I didn't recognize. And Boudy came with his mini-NASCAR track.

I was pleasantly surprised to have 50 cars ready for registration by 12:45. We did have a few issues that will be resolved by next year's show. Live and learn (and get John Ross' help!).

I was pleased to see such a variety of cars. And some bicycles too with the lowrider group. Does anyone know what that was about? Way nicer rides than I had at 12. ;)

Alan did make it but only toward the end (after dropping off speakers at the beginning). :(

I'm just so excited that we were able to raise so much money doing something that combines my love of showing off our cars with my passion for fighting domestic violence.

To give you an idea of what that $ will do:
$36 Buys an infant's diapers for 2 weeks
$78 Supplies milk for all at the shelter for two weeks
$60 Provides a bus pass for a mom for a month while she's job hunting
$200 Pays for agency crisis lines, available 24 hours a day, for three weeks
$350 Underwrites medical supplies and prescriptions for the shelter for a month
$1000 "Sponsors" two children for two weeks at the shelter, covers their emergency care, food, and counseling

So this $2000 goes a long way.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Y'all are awesome and I am so proud to be a part of your club. :D

Fred,

You snuck in on me! How did I miss you? I had no idea y'all made it until I saw your picture in front of GHS. Next year you MUST bring your car, which means no motor overhaul until after we're done. ;)
