New Beginning Center Car Show - Aug 29

I just got the location confirmed for the 2nd Annual New Beginning Center Car and Truck Show. Several of you were able to come out last year to our inaugural event and I really appreciate that. We've got a new location this year and I promise the event will be bigger and better. Garland HS has a bigger parking lot and a great shady area where y'all can sit and enjoy the afternoon.

Here's the details - I would really love for everyone to make it. I'll post again as the event gets closer, but I wanted to let you know that it's coming up.

Seems like there were about 1/2 dozen Cobras at the last one.

It was a good show and there was good company too.

Sign me up. :3DSMILE:

Hope to be there, but don't know why when Fred and Mr. Royal will, too! If only my caretaker would come spray my pipes....

Mrs 66 Snake 08-19-2004 08:07 PM

Thanks Kristen for the suggestion! You should definitely come, it will be really fun.

Since I'm the 2004 VP, the honor is mine to be the TCC moderator.

hey,littlecobra 08-20-2004 09:08 AM

I knew that!

hey, Mr. Ed! I guessed you did that, but I was hesitant to say "Ed #1 or the other Ed #1 (old #2) -- since ya'll down in Austin can't seem to keep the Ed system figured out;) ;) --- we can hardly be expected to follow the Ed trail up here in Big D...:3DSMILE:

Kristen
thanks, by the way for making it a sticky

Gary Morris 08-20-2004 02:27 PM

Pipes????? I didn't know your caretaker had been asked to assist in this. Just who is your caretaker????? That turkey pan guy???

call me if you need me,
Gary

hey,littlecobra 08-20-2004 08:14 PM

well, yes, as a matter of fact...

ya know, that turkey pan might just be available as a model, so you can have one custom made just like it.....

that's pretty funny, BTW....

Guess what I'm gonna do........
c'mon, now, guess......

I'll tell ya later;) ;) ;) ;)

What's happening girl - losing your touch??

Kristen

Sounds like you are losing your touch over there.

How come you have to ask to have your pipes painted? Don't they realise they need doing.

Why do you have to ask or hint.

Been busy over here working on the Cobra getting it back together after the painting. Will place some new photos once it is all back together.

What's a sticky???

Bernie

hey,littlecobra 08-24-2004 06:56 AM

a sticky...

hey, Bernie! a "sticky" is a thread meant to "stay at the top" of the forum. Like an upcoming show needs to be a "sticky" so people will remember about it. If you look at TCC, there are several stickies at the top, kinda like advertisements for events.

about the pipes. After trip to Europe, have been getting ready for school, and getting 4 kids prepared is a full time job! So, school started last week, and I can finally breathe for a minute. The dilemma is this: KC racing (where serviced car in June) is recommending re-coating pipes. But probably needs all new pipes, which is double cost of recoating. Quick job using high heat paint will cover unsightly stains from battery acid leaking back at Tulsa, in June. Messy looking. So, need to either repaint for quick, cheap job, recoat for nice look, not as cheap, or bite the big one and get new pipes, as there are some minor wear holes on the underside of one pipe. I know I will get a variety of opinions now that I've posted the situation, but that's good.... so, after next weeks big event I will decide what to do. So, Colleen's show is Sunday, and hopefully I can go without any trouble, but the pipes still look cruddy. Quick fix with paint, then recoat or new ones later. My caretaker has painted them before, and has hooks in garage for the job, but honestly, I just haven't had time to really look into this. And see what I'll owe him for doing it...;)

 Kristen

Bernie...believe me her caretaker takes good care of her. Like she says she has 4 kiddos and and very hectic lifestyle. I just need her to hook up with me to schedule a time when Pepe' can be available.

Colleen,
I'm sorry I will have to miss your car show. The new headers and sidepipes aren't ready yet.

With you having one more year of experience at setting up and running car shows,I positive this year will be even better than last year.

It is for a great cause, helping abused women, wish my Cobra was ready for the show.

Mrs 66 Snake 08-26-2004 08:19 PM

No car doesn't mean you can't come and have a good time!

Alan said at dinner that your pipes were at the powder coaters so he didn't think you'd be bringing the Cobra if you came.

I'm excited. We've got lots of room this year. Shade trees and some cooler weather predicted.

Plus I've had to add a class - lowrider. They've got several cars coming and they asked if that was a possibility. After they passed the flyer on to one of the radio stations and got the radio truck scheduled to come by, it was easy to say yes.

The station is a Hip-hop station, but there's plenty of room, so I'm gonna have the thumpers down at the other end. The 'Cuda guys that run together have already asked for the "no thumper" section. ;)

hey,littlecobra 08-26-2004 08:26 PM

hey, Colleen,
Is Alan dropping off the Cobra for you- since you can't yet drive it??:D
And what section, exactly is the Cobra section- not near the thumpers either I hope. (no, Gary, not your car- don't get offended)
I really need to pinpoint if I can make it. Tomorrow when the kids come home from school I can see what the homework situation is, then I'll know better...

First of school projects and tests, already!

I'm planning on it, as of today. I"ll let you know!

Kristen

Mrs 66 Snake 08-26-2004 08:47 PM

Well, Alan's an iffy right now. He may stop by but without the car. I'd rather have the car there. I mean Alan's a traffic stopper, but not in the same way the Cobra is. ;)

I know he wants to teach me as much as I want to learn, but getting our schedules to jive lately has been a killer. I don't think the neighbors want us to do 2AM driving instruction.

hey,littlecobra 08-27-2004 11:46 AM

I'm in!!!

ok. What's the latest I can be there and get: a decent parking spot. Time to register. Pick out the "biggest" trophy I'm gonna pay for. ;) . Be ready.

I believe that registration is 1-3? What happens if I get there at 2 or 2:30? Will somebody save me a parking spot near other Cobras? I'll try to get there earlier, but it'll be tough....

Let me know! Thanks, and look forward to seeing ya'll Sunday.
Kristen
